The countries played out a 2-2 draw just over two weeks ago in a game in which South Korea took a ninth-minute lead through Son Heung-min, only for Jordan to bounce back to take a 2-1 lead into the break. However, they were denied a famous win after they agonisingly scored a last-gasp own goal.
South Korea would go on to finish second in the group behind Bahrain, while Jordan would advance through to the knockout stages as one of the best third-placed teams.
Jordan stunned Iraq 3-2 in the last-16 after they scored in the 95th and 97th minute, then edged out Tajikistan 1-0 to set up a semi-final rematch with South Korea.
The Taegeuk Warriors have squeezed their way through to the last-four following dramatic wins over Saudi Arabia - who they beat on penalties after scoring an equaliser in the ninth minute of injury-time - then toppled Australia thanks to another injury-time equaliser followed by a Son winner in extra-time.
Two-time victors South Korea may have been living life on the edge but they are the frontunners in the Asian Cup winner betting and have been installed as the 8/15 favourites to beat Jordan in 90 minutes. As for The Chivalrous, they are the 14/1 outsiders to win the tournament for the first time in their history and can be backed at 5/1 to stun South Korea on Tuesday (in normal time), whereas a draw can be backed at 11/4.
Jordan vs South Korea Tips
When analysing the betting markets for this match I was surprised to see that both teams to score was priced up at odds-against, with BetGoodwin offering an appealing 13/10 for South Korea and Jordan to each find the back of the net in 90 minutes.
South Korea may not have been fully convincing en route to the semi-finals, but their matches have been full of goals and late drama. BTTS has landed in each of their five games so far, which have contained a combined 19 goals.
Jordan’s games have also produced a high total goal count (15 goals in five games), which includes a 3-2 win over Iraq and that group stage 2-2 draw against South Korea.
South Korea may have stuttered and tumbled their way into the semi-finals, but it’s worth noting that they did dispatch of Saudi Arabia and Australia, which has extended their unbeaten streak to 13 matches spanning over 18 months.
Jurgen Jkinsmann’s squad is packed full of talent, notably Premier League stars Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan, and I’m backing them to justify their place at the top of the betting by raising their game and registering a win in normal time, which they’ve only done once so far this tournament.
I’ve teamed this bet up with both teams to score - scroll up for full justification on this - and a goal for star man Son who has found the back of the net in three of his last four games, including the opener against Jordan two weeks ago.
These outcomes combine to form a 5/1 Bet Builder with bet365.
