International Gameweek Correct Score Tips
Wales vs South Korea
- Thursday 7th September: BBC iPlayer, 19:45
The glamour tie of the break. These two sides have never met in an international competition before (nor have their managers) and that's reflected in the betting with neither side being heavily weighted.
Both teams have not started their last two games as they'd like. South Korea are more in form, losing against Peru but they scraped a draw against El Salvador, and Wales have suffered two defeats in their qualifiers against the mighty Armenia and Turkey but Rob Page's side will have the advantage of being on home soil for this match - the value in this game is the draw which is available at odds of 13/8.
Michael Bates' Prediction: Wales 1-1 South Korea
Slovenia vs Northern Ireland
- Thursday 7th September: Viaplay Sports Online, 19:45
Northern Ireland travel to Slovenia on Thursday night to try and kickstart their European Championships qualifying campaign, as three points from their opening four matches has left them with work to do in Group H. Slovenia have bagged seven points from their opening four matches and with the Northern Ireland side having only scored two goals then it's the home team that can prevail narrowly by a 1-0 scoreline.
Steve Chambers' Prediction: Slovenia 1-0 Northern Ireland
Ukraine vs England
- Sunday 10th September: Channel 4, 17:00
Six points separate Group C leaders England from 2nd placed Ukraine after the first wave of fixtures. The Three Lions maintain a 100% record from their opening four qualifiers, scoring 15 and conceding only once to Italy on matchday 1. It was a very routine 2-0 win for the hosts when this pair met at Wembley in March, which is exactly what we can expect when the two run it back in the Tarczyński Arena on Saturday.
Luke Hamilton's Prediction: Ukraine 0-2 England
Cyprus vs Scotland
- Saturday 9th September: Viaplay Sports 1, 19:45
Scotland have enjoyed an extraordinary start to Group A, where they boast 12 points from four games, which includes a stunning 2-0 win against Spain. They should be too strong for rock-bottom Cyprus who are yet to pick up a point and have conceded eight goals in three games. The hosts have lost 10 of their last 17 on home soil and given Scotland’s form and momentum an away win looks highly likely.
Jack Kitson's Prediction: Cyprus 0-1 Scotland
France vs Republic of Ireland
- Thursday 7th September: Viaplay Sports 2, 19:45
France host Republic of Ireland in their next Euro 2024 qualifying game and it'd be tough to side with anyone but the hosts. The French come into this one as the 1/4 favourites with most betting sites and whilst their last game against Ireland wasn't won by a big margin (1-0), I fancy them to wipe the floor with Ireland this time. The French squad seems to be getting better every year with more and more talent coming in and I think they've got a really solid team at the moment. With the home advantage, they should be beating Ireland convincingly here.
Steven McQuillan's Prediction: 3-0 France
