India vs England 3rd Test Tips
India have been handed a further blow ahead of the third test against England with the news that talismanic batsman Virat Kohli is now set to miss out for the remainder of the five-test series.
There could be some more positive news for the hosts though as Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul could both return after missing the last test through injury. Elsewhere, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel could be brought in for a debut to replace the underperforming KS Bharat.
England have already named their XI for this test, with the only change seeing paceman Mark Wood replace young spinner Shoaib Bashir on what's expected to be a flat pitch in Rajkot.
Talented 22 year old Yashasvi Jaiswal has enjoyed a fine start to his test career, averaging 57.90 from his first 11 innings and he was the stand-out batsman for India in Vishag, with an incredible 226 in the second innings that helped steer his side towards a relatively comfortable win.
In his six test matches so far, Jaiswal has failed to score a half-century in only two matches (both of his tests in the South Africa series just over a year ago) and having scored a 95 in the first test of this series before that stunning 226, his confidence will be very high as he looks to stake a claim for a regular spot in this India team while some more established players miss out.
In the last test, we correctly backed England's opening duo to score over 24.5 runs in the first innings and they cruised to 59 without a wicket before Ben Duckett was caught by Rajit Patidar off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav and they also reached 50 without loss in the second innings before Ravichandran Ashwin broke the partnership.
With Zak Crawley in strong form and England looking to take the game to the hosts at every opportunity, quick runs have been the order of the day for the travelling side's entire batting line-up and it's worth noting that the lowest opening partnership in the eight innings played in this series so far by either side was 29, so the money line of 28.5 seems low here.
