India vs. New Zealand Betting Tips: Back Rohit Sharma to be top India Batsman

Two of the most impressive sides at the 2023 Cricket World Cup face off on Sunday as India take on New Zealand. Read below about our best bets for the game in Dharamshala.
Both of these sides possess a perfect record at the tournament so far with four wins from four. Hosts India are now just 1/500 in the betting to finish in the top-four places, while New Zealand are also heavily odds-on at just 1/6.
India have been superb so far in their matches having dispatched Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and most recently Bangladesh. The host nation have chased down a total in all four of those matches and are yet to lose more than four wickets in an innings! Before the action began at the start of October, India were the pre-tournament favourites to go on and lift the trophy and that remains the case with several betting sites now offering odds of just 11/10.
New Zealand’s excellent victory over England in their opening match was very much a springboard to go on and prove to the rest of the world that they do not fear anyone. Triumphs over Netherlands, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have followed, but they now face their toughest assignment yet when taking on this high quality outfit in their fifth match.
India vs New Zealand Tips
Taking a look at the Win Market for this exciting encounter, India are priced at 4/9, while New Zealand can be sided with at 7/4. We don’t believe any of those prices hold any particular value and we’ve opted to steer away from the match result.
All three of the current top run scorers at the Cricket World Cup will be on show here and we’ve taken a lean towards Rohit Sharma being the Top Batsman for India. With 265 runs so far no player has accrued more runs so far at the tournament with his stand out performances coming against Afghanistan where he made 131, along with 86 of just 63 balls in the convincing win over Pakistan. At 3/1, the India captain looks a solid prospect to be his team's top run scorer as they look to lay down a marker to justify why they are the heavy favourites to lift the trophy.
We are also recommending Mitchell Santner to take the most wickets for his side and we’ve backed him in the Top New Zealand Bowler market at 4/1. The left-arm bowler has been flying the flag for finger spin at the World Cup and has currently taken more wickets than any other player with 11.
With this in mind, we are surprised to see 4/1 available here for Santner to be Top New Zealand Bowler. This is a stand-out top-price with William Hill, while other firms go as short as 3/1. Santner took a 5-fer against Netherlands and although wickets may be hard to come by against this resilient India upper-order, if there is anyone who can get under their skin, it’s the New Zealand spinner.
