Hungary Euro 2021 Tips and Betting Odds
Welcome to BettingOdds.com's Euro 2021 profile series, where we'll be counting down to next summer's tournament with an in-depth look at the betting opportunities for each of the countries involved.
Author's Opinion
It is going to take something utterly remarkable for Hungary to make it past the group stage of Euro 2021. Drawn in a group alongside both the European and World champions in Portugal and France - as well as Germany - I would be amazed to see Hungary go any further than the initial stages this summer. They're 400/1 in the outright betting and I think even that is way too short.

Top Three Key Players
Nemanja Nikolics, Fehervar
Hungary's leading goalscorer this season is Nemanja Nikolics. The 33-year-old - who has 37 international caps to his name - is a vastly experienced striker with 19 goals in all competitions this season and will the one relied upon to get the goals for his country at Euro 2021. Keep an eye on his name in the goalscorer markets when Hungary are in action.
Willi Orban, RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig centre-half Willi Orban will be the man tasked with shoring up Hungary's back-line at Euro 2021. The 28-year-old has been a key figure in Leipzig's team this season and will provide a wealth of quality and experience in the heart of defence.
Péter Gulácsi, RB Leipzig
With Hungary's goal set to face plenty of action this summer, it's a good job they have a really quality figure between the sticks. RB Leipzig's Péter Gulácsi has kept 20 clean sheets in 45 appearances (all competitions) for the Bundesliga side this term, and will be key to their chances of making it out of the Group of Death ahead of either Portugal, Germany or France.
Young Gun
András Schäfer, DAC Dunajska Streda
Hungary's brightest talent is RB Leipzig winger Dominik Szoboszlai, who this season has scored 9 goals and provided 11 assists in the Bundesliga. The 20-year-old looks set to miss this summer's tournament with an adductor injury, however, leaving András Schäfer as Hungary's young gun to look out for.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been a regular performer for Slovakian Premier Division outfit DAC Dunajska Streda this season and will be hoping to put himself in the shop window at his first major tournament - certainly one to keep an eye on.
Hungary's Outright Odds at Euro 2021
Hungary are huge 400/1 shots to win their first ever European Championship this summer. Given the group they are in, though, it's hugely unlikely they will make it to the last-16, let alone win the whole tournament.
Hungary's Group Odds at Euro 2021
Hungary have been drawn in the 'Group of Death' for Euro 2021, alongside World Cup champions France, European Championship holders Portugal and four-time World Cup winners Germany. Therefore, it is little surprise to see them at 40/1 to win the group and 5/1 just to qualify - the highest priced team in these betting markets at Euro 2021.
The Gaffer
Hungary's manager is Marco Rossi. The Italian has been in charge of the national team since 2018, having previously managed the likes of DAC Dunajska Streda and Budapest Honved in the Slovakian and Hungarian Premier Leagues. This will be Rossi's first appearance at a major international tournament.
