Hibs vs. Hearts Betting Tips: We're backing the Jambos to win thriller at Easter Road

We're into the second gameweek of the Scottish Premiership and Sunday throws up our first big local rivalry of the season, the Edinburgh Derby. We've asked Adam Roberts to look into this intense rivalry and provide us with his two best bets.
Hibs vs. Hearts Tips
Both sides come into this fixture in a buoyant mood having won in their opening games. However, both will know that they didn't play particularly well and scraped over the line to get the three points in the bag.
Hibs scored in the last minute in Perth thanks to a Josh Campbell strike to give them a 1-0 victory over St Johnstone. It was a reasonable start for new gaffer Lee Johnson, who is aiming to resurrect his career north of the border. If he can pull another win out of the bag against the Jam Tarts, then he would become an instant hero at the Hibees.
Hearts meanwhile, made really hard work of it in Gorgie against a spirited Ross County but two goals from the wide men, Barrie McKay and Alan Forrest, were enough to survive a late onslaught from the Staggies. Robbie Neilson will know his team have to do a lot more to beat their Edinburgh rivals.

As you can see above Hearts have dominated this fixture both in recent times and over the history of this rivalry. In 330 match-ups between the two Edinburgh clubs, Hearts have won 146 compared to Hibs' 86 wins. Hibs haven't beaten Hearts since a 2-0 away win back in Dec 2019, thanks to a Martin Boyle brace.
In comparison, the Jambos have won five of the last eight clashes and on each occasion the over 2.5 goal line has been breached. I'm backing that to happen here again and the 18/5 on offer at William Hill will be my main bet of this preview.
My second pick is a bet builder at Paddy Power based around two Hearts players. I've taken Peter Haring to be shown a card and Liam Boyce to score anytime.
The 29-year-old Austrian signed for Hearts back in 2018 and quickly started picking up the bookings. After picking up a colossal 15 cautions in 32 games for SV Ried in the Austrian Erste Liga in 17/18, he then picked up 7 in 26 for hearts in 18/19 and another 7 in 26 last year. Last year's total came in just 11 starts and he got booked in two consecutive Edinburgh derbies.
Boyce led the Jambos in scoring, shots and shots on target last season and was the only man to break double figures. The 31-year-old Northern Irishman was warming the bench in the first game but is expected to be recalled for this massive occasion.
