Fury vs. Chisora Tips
Let’s be honest, this is not a fight that a lot of us are excited for. It’s always good to see Heavyweight titles on the line and it always makes for a good watch, but instead of getting Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, we’ve been left with the trilogy no one asked for: Fury vs Chisora 3.
There’s a serious difference in quality between these two and even if Chisora is still going strong, he’s now 38 years old and will be 39 in a couple of weeks time. Fury is still at the very peak of his career having never lost a fight and recently beating Deontay Wilder twice and stopping Dillian Whyte.
Chisora is just coming off a decision win against Kubrat Pulev which was a decent upset but that was his only win in his last four fights. To say he’s up against it vs Tyson Fury is an understatement and winning this would go down as one of boxing’s biggest upsets.
Tyson Fury comes into this fight as the 1/20 favourite and rightfully so. For those that fancy an upset Chisora is as big as 14/1 with some bookmakers. We’ll be siding with an easy night for Fury so let’s get on to what we’re backing.
As previously mentioned Tyson Fury is a huge favourite for this fight and even more specifically he is a big favourite to win by KO/TKO. The Gypsy King comes in as a 1/4 shot to win this fight by stoppage and considering he did it the last time they faced each other, it’s definitely worth looking at.
1/4 is fairly short for a KO but with this fight being so one-sided you can see why, if you were to squeeze some value out of the stoppage market, your best bet is getting Fury to do it early.
Chisora has built a reputation off being durable but unfortunately, age is catching up with him and when he’s up against one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time, he’s going to have his resilience tested to it’s limit.
I can’t see a world where Chisora boxes with Fury for a decent amount of time. In their last bout Fury had to basically tell the referee to stop the fight as he was inflicted way too much unanswered damage onto Chisora. Since then Fury has only got better and Chisora has aged massively.
Fury has the ability to end this fight when he wants and I can’t see him wanting to spend any unwanted time in the ring against Chisora, a man who he has schooled twice, with Betfair offering 5/6 for Fury to win in rounds 1-6.
It wouldn’t be a Chisora fight without seeing his body on the canvas. Like we previously mentioned, he is durable, but sometimes he’s a bit too game for his own good and more often than not, Chisora takes a lot of damage and ends up on the floor.
If there’s ever a boxer you don’t want to be vulnerable against it’s Tyson Fury, who will swarm on you in a flash as soon as he notices you’re hurt. Fury is expected to get this done convincingly against Chisora and honestly, if Derek gets out of the first couple of rounds it’d be a huge achievement for him.
Most of us are expecting Fury to start this one very fast and combining that with Chisora being completely out of his depth in this one, 9/4 for Chisora to be knocked down in rounds 1-3 could prove to be a very decent bet and it’s one that we’ll be backing.
And that’ll be that for us, whilst it’s not the fight we all wanted, hopefully it’s still a good one. And for those following the bets, best of luck to and make sure to gamble within your limits!
