Luton vs Aston Villa
- Saturday 2nd March, 5.30pm, Sky Sports
Luton's best form has come at home this season, with three of their five wins in the Premier League having come at Kenilworth Road,
The Hatters lost by just a single goal at home to Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United, while they secured a 1-1 draw against Liverpool earlier this season.
However, four consecutive defeats suggest Luton are in the midst of a tricky patch, and while three of those defeats have come against teams in the top six in the Premier League, they play Villa, who are also amongst the elite.
Villa have lost just one of their last 10 away from home, but they will do well to keep a clean sheet. Luton have scored in nine consecutive games at home in the Premier League, while Villa have kept only three clean sheets in 10 away from home in the league.
For the Hatters to have any chance of picking up a result, they will need to silence Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
The England international has scored 14 goals already this season, from 26 Premier League appearances, and he has netted five times in his last six appearances in all competitions.
Watkins has the pace and power to trouble Luton's defence throughout the game and, facing a side who conceded six in their last game, it seems likely he will be given plenty of opportunities to find the back of the net.
Luton vs Aston Villa Predictions
Man City vs Man Utd
- Sunday 25th February, 3.30pm, Sky Sports
Like they seem to do every season, City appear to have hit a rich vein of form that very few teams can live with, as Pep Guardiola has seen his side not only go unbeaten across their last 18 games, registering 16 wins, but they have also scored an eye-catching 48 goals.
Six of those strikes came in the cup against Luton on Tuesday night, but City also conceded twice in that game, once again highlighting perhaps an area of vulnerability for last season's treble winners, as they have conceded in 15 of their last 23 matches across all competitions.
That will give United hope of getting on the scoresheet at the Etihad, as despite their recent loss to Fulham, Erik ten Hag's side have netted in 11 matches on the spin.
United have also struck in four of their last five meetings with City, but that has not tended to yield much success, as they have only ended up winning one of those games.
If this ends up going like other recent derby meetings, with both teams fighting fire with fire, then there should only be one winner, with City boasting in-form attacking talents like Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and of course Erling Haaland, who is fresh from his five-goal haul against Luton.
Haaland also netted a hat-trick in last season's corresponding fixture with United - a 6-3 City win - and he will keep the visitors’ defence occupied.
That could open up space for City's other attacking talents such as Foden, who also netted a hat-trick in that 6-3 game and was on the scoresheet in October's reverse meeting at Old Trafford as well.
Man City vs Man Utd Predictions
Sheffield United vs Arsenal
Monday 4th March, 8.00pm, Sky Sports
The gulf between these two sides is clear from their recent run of results alone. Sheffield United have lost four of their last five, with their last two home matches bringing 5-0 defeats by Aston Villa and Brighton.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have scored 25 goals across their last six matches. That run has brought two 5-0 wins and a 6-0 victory, with the Gunners scoring at least three times in five of those outings.
The Blades have conceded 36 times across their 13 games and their defensive struggles are setting records for goals conceded at this stage of the campaign. With Arsenal in full flow, the visitors should expect little resistance as they go chasing another victory.
The Gunners have won each of their seven clashes with the bottom eight heading into the weekend. With the Blades losing 5-0 at the Emirates earlier this season, a heavy defeat is on the cards for the hosts. After conceding at least three times in four of their last five at home, back Sheffield United to concede another three to the league’s form team.
A big part of Arsenal’s great start to the year is Bukayo Saka, who has scored more Premier League goals in 2024 than any other player. He’s scored in his last five league appearances, making him a tempting anytime scorer option at 5/4 with bet365.
However, Saka has scored twice in Arsenal’s last two trips - visits to Burnley and West Ham. With the Blades looking poor at the back and given their lack of wide cover defensively, Saka could have plenty of joy in this clash. He’s 13/2 for another brace, which looks like a great price following his fine start to the year.
