We’ve picked a bet from three of the four World cup 2022 matches on Day 4, starting from the 1pm kick-off...
Football Accumulator Tips
- Kai Havertz to score
- Ferran Torres to score
- Kevin de Bruyne 2+ shots on target
- Treble @ 13.5/1 with Betfair
These days Germany lack their traditional frontman. In the past, they've relied on Klose and Gomez to get the goals, but now they seem to rotate between forwards and play with more wingers and false nines.
Kai Havertz is now one of the main men for the German national team and he is expecting to be their number-one central forward after he was recently promoted to vice-captain of the squad. Havertz has a solid record for Germany registering 10 goals and 11 assists in his 31 games for his country.
Germany are expected to have a comfortable game against Japan and whilst they might not be bang in form, Germany definitely have superior individual quality in every position. The bookies seem to fancy Havertz’s chances of scoring as he is the shortest price of anyone to score, if he is to start, 6/4 is a great bet for a goal anytime.
Here we’ve got another goalscorer on the cards and a man who when he gets going, is prolific. Ferran Torres has 13 goals on record for Spain and four of them have come in World Cup qualification games.
Torres is expected to start on the wing for Spain with Morata playing down the middle. Luckily for us, Torres has actually scored most of his goals for Spain when playing on the wing. Only two of his 13 goals have come when he was playing the central role so it’s clear to see he much prefers the wings.
Spain are the overwhelming favourites for this game with them coming in as 1/8 favourites and Costa Rica being priced at a whopping 18/1. The bookies are fancying Spain to score a fair few goals in this one and Morata is actually priced at under evens to score anytime. If Torres starts, expect him to be on the scoresheet in a game that should produce plenty of goals.
Kevin de Bruyne is the man to go to for Belgium this World Cup. With Lukaku seemingly not 100% fit just yet, De Bruyne will be the man to try and replace his goals. KDB has mostly been known for his assists but the man is definitely partial to a screamer.
The midfielder has recorded 46 assists for Belgium in 94 games which is incredible but he is more than just assists, he also has 25 goals from midfield.
With Lukaku being out De Bruyne has also secured that penalty-taking position which could only help when it comes to shots on target.
He will also be on free-kicks which is another opportunity for a shot and on top of that, he just loves a long ranged shot as is. I think 7/4 for 2+ shots on target is generous, I was expecting more around the 5/4 mark so I’ll definitely have this to finish off our acca.
