The final two Champions League quarter-final ties come to a conclusion on Wednesday evening as Liverpool welcome Benfica to Anfield, while Manchester City travel to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid. The Reds head into Wednesday night’s game with a 3-1 advantage after goals from Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate in Portugal last week. Jurgen Klopp’s side played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the weekend and he may decide to shuffle his pack a little here with Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz and Naby Keita potentially coming back into the starting lineup. 

Liverpool are priced as short as 1/4 to win this game in 90 minutes and they take on a Benfica side who rested a few of their players at the weekend and still managed a comfortable 3-1 win over Belenenses thanks to a hat-trick from Darwen Nunez. The Uruguayan has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League in the summer, and scored his side's only goal in the first leg against Liverpool.

As mentioned above, Diaz was on the scoresheet in the first leg after latching on to a tremendous long ball from Trent Alexander Arnold. With Benfica simply needing to attack and get goals on Wednesday, I feel we will see quite an open game with plenty of chances for both sides. 

Since arriving in January, the Colombian has settled in seamlessly to his new surroundings and looks at home in this side that could go on to win numerous trophies this term. Diaz has started eight games for Liverpool since making the switch to Merseyside and his shot figures in that period read: 4,4,4,4,5,2,0,4. 

That’s an average of 3.4 shots per game across the eight matches he has started, with this line of Over 1.5 being cleared on seven of the eight occasions. Just like in the first leg I feel Diaz will be a major threat for the Eagles and with him having benched against City at the weekend, he should be fresh and raring to go here.

Trent Alexander-Arnold endured a mixed game against Manchester City on Sunday, showing moments of defensive magic, as well as being exposed on numerous occasions with Joao Cancelo and Raheem Sterling getting in behind. 

I’ve taken Trent to have over 0.5 tackles in this match via the 365 Bet Builder, which takes the double with Diaz Over 1.5 shots to 11/10. The 23-year-old made three successful tackles against Pep’s men at the weekend and has made eight in his last four Premier League appearances with figures of 3,2,2,1.  

In the Champions League this season, Trent has started six matches and has made at least one tackle in all of them with figures of, 2,2,3,1,2,1. Three of those fixtures have been at Anfield - against Inter where Trent made two tackles, Atletico where he made three, and AC Milan where he made two. Benfica will need to attack here if they are to have any chance of progressing to the semi-finals and I’m more than happy to take quotes of 11/10 on this double.
