Football Accumulator Tips: 13/1 Bet Builder for West Ham vs Everton

With the last batch of international fixtures now finally over, breaks from the domestic calendar can mercifully be forgotten about until the season's conclusion. The Premier League returns with a full schedule of fixtures and although most games take place on the Saturday, we still have a tasty looking Bet Builder ready to go for Sunday's opener. Anthony Eadson is on a well earned break and so we've drafted in Billy Grimshaw to find us some value and he thinks he has found something worth backing in Everton's visit to West Ham.
This is a battle of two sides with very different aspirations for the season, although at the beginning of the campaign many pundits will have expected them to both be battling it out for a European berth. For the hosts West Ham, things are very much going to plan. They had looked likely to challenge until the very end for a top four position and the carrot of Champions League football next season until recently, but a dip in form seems to have put paid to that longshot dream. Still, a sequence of two wins, two draws and two losses from their last six is hardly reason to hit the panic button. Which is not something that can be said for the visitors.
After starting the season well under hugely unpopular ex-Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, the wheels have once again fallen off at Everton. They have looked utterly calamitous for most of the season and Frank Lampard's appointment as Bentitez's replacement has hardly steadied the ship. All the good will they garnered in their last minute win against Newcastle in the last league game before the international break was forgotten after a 4-0 drubbing by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and Lampard's men now need to refocus and get some points on the board if they are to avoid being relegated for the first time in their history.
Football Accumulator Tips
Ben Godfrey to be carded @ 15/4 with Bet365
The first leg of this Bet Builder double I am recommending is for Everton's probable starting right back on the day Ben Godfrey to find himself in hot water and see a card. Everton's porous defence has been a problem all season and although Godfrey has been one of the better performers in many fans' eyes, he is one of the more easily irritated and passionate players in The Toffee's squad. A centre back by trade, he has done an admirable job when asked to fill in at right back and will undoubtedly do the same at the London Stadium, but facing up against one of the in form players in the league in Jarrod Bowen is not something many specialist full backs would relish let alone a makeshift one.
Bowen's combination of quick feet and blistering pace make him a nightmare to defend and it is easy to envisage a couple of different scenarios in which Godfrey finds himself booked. Firstly, an accumulation of cynical fouls when The Hammers wide man is breaking past him could see the referee finally lose patience. It could also be Godfrey himself who loses patience with being given the run-around by the livewire winger and he could decide to scythe him down to stop him making any more advances. Godfrey has seen yellow seven times in the league this campaign but if factoring in games in all competitions he has been booked in three of his last seven appearances. This is an indication the new manager's playing style is leaving him more exposed than he had been previously and if that continues in East London expect to see a card brandished Godfrey's way.
Jarrod Bowen to score anytime @ 2/1 with Bet365
Sticking with a similar theme to the first leg of the bet, I like the look of Jarrod Bowen to score at 2/1 in this match. As previously mentioned, the Englishman is having the season of his life at the moment and has seen his odds to make the England World Cup squad for Qatar tumble from as big as 8/1 back in November into odds-on in places at the time of writing. He has registered eight goals in the Premier League this season, making him The Hammers' joint top scorer with striker Michail Antonio and he has proven his adaptability in terms of finishing with all types of goals so far across all competitions. He has also provided eight assists, a club high, so far in the League and this is another indication that his output has gone to another level in 2021/22.
With the tendency of the Everton defenders to switch off in crucial moments, a player like Bowen is an absolute nightmare for Lampard's men to come up against. He will be fizzing around non-stop trying to find pockets of space and when he has the ball he will be eager to charge at the defenders and cause chaos. With the aforementioned Antonio undoubtedly occupying Everton's central defenders with his sizeable frame, expect Bowen to be the main beneficiary and to be ready and waiting for any balls that come into the box from the opposite flank.
Combining these two legs gives us a double figure priced Bet Builder that I think is a value play in this game and worth a wager. As always if following this advice, do remember to gamble responsibly.
