Football Accumulator Tips: Back our 27/1 Football League Acca on Saturday

The Summer break is finally over with the Football League returning this weekend and here at BettingOdds.com we’ve put together our best accumulator tips for Saturday’s action. At the time of writing, our acca pays 27/1 with Paddy Power and you can read about the individual selections below.
Saturday Acca Tips
Stoke vs Rotherham
We are fancying Alex Neil to have a strong season with Stoke City and for our first selection, we are backing them to beat Rotherham at the bet365 stadium. Stoke have managed to keep Ki-Jana Hoever and Ben Pearson at the club this summer and have also added Brazilian striker Wesley to their squad. The Potters showed signs of promise last year but had a disappointing end to the campaign, but we believe they can kick this off this term with three points and a win.
On Saturday Stoke face a Rotherham side who are the favourites to be relegated down to League One this season, priced as short as 6/4 with Betfred. We haven’t been impressed with the recruitment by The Millers in the transfer window so far and this looks a tough start to the season against a Stoke side who can challenge for the play-offs under their Neil.
Bristol City vs Preston
Bristol City had a much stronger second half to the campaign under Nigel Pearson and there is positivity around Ashton Gate heading into the new season. Much will depend on if they can retain the services of the talented Alex Scott, but with some strong attacking options at their disposal, the odds-against price of 11/10 makes some appeal for them to get the win on the opening weekend.
Preston on the other hand may struggle to replace the goals that Tom Cannon provided in the 2022/23 campaign, although the signing of Will Keane will bring some hope to the North End faithful. The budget that Ryan Lowe is working with is one of the lowest in the division and if they get off to a slow start the fans may start to lose patience in the coming months.
Bolton vs Lincoln
The Trotters have been a popular selection in ante-post markets for League One in the last few weeks and it’s easy to see why when you consider the upward trend the club are on under the stewardship of Ian Evatt.
In Dion Charles they have a forward who managed 17 goals at this level last season and can improve on those figures in the forthcoming season.
Lincoln are no pushovers and we expect them to be sniffing around the play-off places, but in what looks a rather weak renewal of League One, we feel Bolton can come flying out the traps and take three points on Gameweek 1 against the Imps.
Cambridge vs Oxford
Remaining in the English third-tier and we have Cambridge against Oxford United, where we are siding with the visitors. Cambridge disappointed for large parts of last season despite managing to survive under Mark Bonner. A similar trajectory is expected this time round and we are predicting they will struggle on Saturday against an Oxford side who look to be going places with Liam Manning at the helm.
The first weekend of the season can often be a minefield for punters, but with 11/8 on show for Oxford to win, we think that looks a generous price in this match up of two sides who could be at completely different ends of the table in 2023/24.
Crawley vs Bradford
Crawley’s issues have been well documented over the last year since manager John Yens was suspended for allegations of discrimination. Since then four managers have been in charge and their turbulent nature makes them prime candidates for the drop this term.
In their season opener Crawley face Bradford who last year reached the play-offs and will be looking to go one better under Mark Hughes. Again, we are surprised to see the visitors chalked up at odds-against (21/20), and they are sure to be a popular pick as punters try to seek out some value.
As mentioned above, the five-fold pays 27/1 with Paddy Power or Betfair.
