Football Accumulator Tips: Everton to make it three from three in 20/1 acca

It’s gameweek three across the Premier League and EFL this weekend and I’ve got a 20/1 acca as part of my football tips for the action this Saturday. Four of the five games involved kick off at 15:00pm so you can settle down and watch Soccer Saturday and hopefully have a nice winner to lift the gloom of this week's latest Covid-19 updates.
20/1 accumulator - 0.5pts with bet365
(A) Everton to beat Crystal Palace
(A) Brentford to beat Millwall
(H) Port Vale to beat Harrogate
(H) Cheltenham to beat Grimsby
(A) Chelsea to beat West Brom
The only 3pm kick-off in the Premier League this Saturday comes from Selhurst Park where Everton visit Crystal Palace. Both sides have made a superb start to the season winning both of their league games so far. Roy Hodgson’s side have enjoyed two big wins, at home to Southampton and most recently away at Manchester United. If you had put £10 on the Eagles to win on each of those games as a single, you would be in profit to the tune of £120!
I think beating Everton though is a huge ask for Palace and I do see the three points going to the visitors on Saturday afternoon. No team in the Premier League has averaged less possession so far this season than Crystal Palace with just 27%. With this in mind you would expect Everton to see lots of the ball and ultimately, punish the home side.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been dynamite in their first two games putting five goals past West Brom last week. James Rodriguez has hit the ground running, and in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they have a striker who is full of confidence, scoring four goals in two games. Priced at odds-against, it’s hard not to side with Everton although Palace could prove tough to nut to crack.
Dropping down into the Championship, the second side I’m backing in this accumulator is Brentford. The Bees make the short trip across London to Millwall. After stuttering away at Birmingham on the opening day of the season, Brentford got back to winning ways, strolling to a 3-0 win at home to Huddersfield last weekend. I included that selection in my football tips in gameweek two and I’m fancying them to follow that win up with another on Saturday.
Thomas Frank’s side are now the favourites to win the Championship this season, priced as short as 4/1 with some bookmakers. They have the ability to cause any side in the division problems, and I can only see them doing similar to what Leeds did last year - learning from their mistakes after missing out in the play-offs, and going on to achieve automatic promotion the following year.
Millwall will be a tough opponent for Brentford, however, if we look back into last season, Gary Rowett’s side have only won two of their last ten home league matches. They failed to score at home to Stoke on the opening day in a 0-0 draw, and if they play like that against Brentford, they will be punished.
The first of two games from league-two comes from The Cotswolds where Cheltenham take on Grimsby. Manager Michael Duff boasted one of the most consistent teams in the EFL last season and the route of that was because of their solid defence. Cheltenham in fact only conceded just 27 goals in 36 games in 2019/20 - a record that any team in professional football would be proud of.
After defeat on the opening day to Morecambe, Duff’s side bounced back with a 3-0 away win at Tranmere last Saturday and I expect them to build on that performance. They take on Grimsby who have lost both their opening fixtures and are yet to find the back of the net. At 4/5 as a single, I’d make this my best bet of the weekend.
Next up I’m backing another home win, this time for Port Vale at home to newly promoted Harrogate Town. John Askey’s side have won both of their games in the league campaign so far including an impressive 2-0 victory at Exeter most recently. Robbie Williams’ boyhood club were eight in the division before the halting of proceedings due to Covid-19 and they will have one eye on the play-offs this campaign. I feel they have enough to beat Harrgogate on Saturday and hopefully it will be us that’s singing when we’re winning thanks to a Port Vale win.
The fifth and final team that I’m including in this 20/1 accumulator comes at 17:30 in the midlands. Frank Lampard takes his Chelsea side to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom and with the hosts losing their first two games, conceding eight goals in the process. Slaven Bilic’s side did manage to score two goals against the Toffee’s but ultimately went down without much of a fight, with a scoreline of 5-2.
The quality that Chelsea possess should be too much for the Baggies on Saturday. Kai Havertz scored his first ever senior hat-trick in the League Cup on Wednesday and should keep his place in the starting line up after being sacrificed as a substitute against Liverpool due to Christiensen’s red card.
Timo Werner is yet to get off the mark for his new club and will be itching to get on the scoresheet. Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell should also start their first Premier League game for the club which I think should be a convincing win.
I’d recommend backing this 20/1 accumulator with Stoke-based bookmaker bet365. They offer an accumulator bonus based on the amount of selections you include. In this case, for five selections, it’s an extra 12% on top of our winnings which would take us to around the 22/1 mark. Best of luck and please remember to gamble responsibly.
