Saturday Accumulator Tips
Everton to beat Fulham
Everton host Fulham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening and I’m siding with The Toffees to win this one. Sean Dyche has finally got Everton playing some great football and they’re now on a stunning streak of four wins in a row.
A fascinating stat is, If it wasn’t for the points deduction Everton would be sitting at around 9th in the Premier League table. This clearly shows that they are playing with full confidence at the moment despite their dramatic season.
When we compare Everton’s form with Fulham it’s night and day, especially when we focus on Fulham’s away form. They have lost their last three away trips in quite convincing fashion. Given that Everton are playing at home and are bang in form, 11/10 looks like a great price for them to win.
Middlesbrough to beat Port Vale
Middlesbrough make the away trip to Port Vale in their next Carabao Cup fixture. Whilst they might not be in the best of form, I still fancy them to win this one comfortably.
Port Vale are currently in 15th in League One and are not performing well at all. They have only one win in their last six home games which is where this game will be played. With Middlesbrough being a whole league ahead and having more success on the form front, it’s hard to side with anything but a Boro win.
They’re under even money to win here but I still think they’re a great selection for an acca, the difference in quality should really shine through for Middlesbrough and it’d be a big upset to see them lose even with them being away from home.
Chelsea to beat Newcastle
Up next we’re siding with Chelsea to beat Newcastle. Things are slowly on the rise for Chelsea and they’re starting to turn Stamford Bridge into a fortress. They’ve only tasted defeat here once in their last seven games, taking points from Manchester City, Arsenal and Brighton in the process.
Remarkably, Newcastle have still only won two games away from home this season, those being an 8-0 win against Sheff Utd and a 3-0 win against Man Utd in the Carabao Cup. It’s a concerning stat for me and one I can’t quite wrap my head around.
Newcastle just seem like a completely different side when they’re not playing at St James’ Park and I fear with Chelsea’s recent showings at Stamford Bridge, this could be a very one-sided game in favour of the Blues.
Portsmouth to beat AFC Wimbledon
Finally, we have some EFL Trophy action between Portsmouth and Wimbledon. I’m siding with Portsmouth to win this one as they’re playing some great football at the moment. It’s four wins in a row for Pompey and more impressively, they haven’t conceded a goal in their last four games meaning they’ve won their last four fixtures to nil.
They’ve also only lost one of their last nine home games and I don’t see a world in which Wimbledon can compete with Portsmouth here. When we add them to our accumulator with SkyBet we’re left with a 9/1 accumulator for Tuesday’s Cup action.
