Football Accumulator Tips: Snap Up This 7/1 Boxing Day Acca
With the Premier League action returning, there's set to be a real treat for football fans on Boxing Day as there's a plethora of matches taking place on December 26, and our man Steve Chambers has picked out a 7/1 accumulator for the festive action on Monday...
Boxing Day Acca Tips
Preston to beat Huddersfield
Languishing at the foot of the Championship table, Huddersfield have already lost 13 of their 22 league matches this season and the Terriers, who are seven points away from safety, face a tough test on Boxing Day as they head to Deepdale to face a quality Preston North End side.
Ryan Lowe's side sit just outside of the play-offs on goal difference. Two defeats in their last three league games have just halted their momentum in the second tier, but they can return to winning ways on Monday and at 5/6 look a decent bet to inflict more misery on their visiting opponents.
Stoic in defence and with the joint second best defensive record in the league (conceded 22 goals), Preston will face a toothless Huddersfield side that have only hit the back of the net 19 times in the Championship this season, so it's hard to see the Yorkshire side unlocking the Preston defence.
Preston have scored eight goals in their last four matches in all competitions, so are certainly having no issues in front of goal, so they could well overpower a Town side that are really struggling under Mark Fotheringham.
MK Dons to beat Forest Green
There's a real 'six-pointer' in League One on Boxing Day as Forest Green Rovers (21st) travel to MK Dons (22nd) with both looking to grab the win and duly try and pull themselves out of the relegation zone. It's the Dons that can prevail here in what should be a cagey encounter.
Thrashed 4-0 by Derby County in their last match, Forest Green have shipped goals all campaign and have the second worst defensive record in the league (conceded 43 goals), so MK Dons will be looking to punish that leaky defence. The shade of odds-against for a home win looks the way to go here.
MK Dons suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Premier League side Leicester City in the Carabao Cup last time out, but they had previously recorded a stunning win over Portsmouth in the league, so if they can repeat that effort on home soil then they should have too much firepower for Forest Green.
Salford City to beat Barrow
Three defeats in their last four League Two matches, Barrow's quest for automatic promotion to the third tier has hit a significant bump in the road and they could face more turmoil on Boxing Day as they head to a Salford City side that have won their last three matches in all competitions and can make it four on the spin here.
Salford sit just outside the play-offs, but a win here will see them leapfrog Barrow in the table and a play-off spot by the end of Boxing Day could be in order if The Ammies can claim victory here. All three of those aforementioned wins for Salford has seen them keep a clean sheet, so Barrow, who have failed to score in their last two matches could face a stern test to beat their opponents.
Salford have won three of the last four meetings of the two sides, so they have an excellent recent record in the league against Barrow, so with an eye-catching 11/8 available for home win they can complete our 7/1 accumulator with aplomb.
