Fenerbahce vs Man United Prediction, Odds and Lineups: Back the hosts on the Asian Handicap

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho faces former club Man United in the Europa League tonight, live on TNT Sports 1 at 8pm. 

Tom Winch has previewed the match and delivered us his best bets, including a 4-1 shot in the anytime goalscorer market.

Jose Mourinho will do everything in his power for Fenerbahce on Thursday night. The Portuguese manager will not want to get beaten by Manchester United. The Turkish outfit is a slight outsider in the betting. Erik ten Hag’s men are difficult to trust at the best of times. I can’t be backing them as 5/4 favourites in Istanbul.

The hosts have many recognisable names. Soyuncu is a consistent starter in defence. Fred and Amrabat started in their previous encounter. Serbian duo Dusan Tadic and Filip Kostic occupy either flank, whilst Edin Dzeko is still active and scoring goals. It’s a side with endless experience.  

Mourinho’s men have lost twice across 14 matches this season. Lille defeated them with an injury-time winner at the beginning of August. Galatasaray won 3-1 at this venue in September. Fenerbahçe won the shot count and xG battle 25-14 and 3.40 - 1.41, respectively. No side has prevented Jose’s side from scoring this term. I struggle to see how United leave Istanbul with a clean sheet.  

Manchester United have won 17 times across their 42 Premier League away days under ETH. It’s an uninspiring record. The English club have recorded a single victory in five away days across all competitions this season. That came against Southampton, a struggling side who've earned a solitary point.  

I want to get with Fenerbahçe here. The Turkish outfit are a decent side who are more than capable of finding the back of the net. They have experience and quality in forward areas, the stadium will be rocking, and Mourinho will be desperate to get the fans roaring. 

Bruno Fernandes will not feature here. Manchester United's captain faces a suspension after receiving a red card against Porto. Harry Maguire is injured. Rasmus Hojlund and Casemiro are doubts. Backing Fenerbahçe +0.25 on the Asian Handicap looks like a good angle. If Fenerbahçe avoids defeat, the selection will return a profit.

Dusan Tadic is still going strong at the age of 35 with the Serbian is still scoring and assisting for fun. The former Saint has found the back of the net five times across eight appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this season. He's scored in three consecutive matches and looks like a juicy price to find the back of the net again.  

There are 12 players that are priced shorter in the anytime goalscorer market than the Serbian. The Fenerbahçe man is on penalty duties, often takes free kicks, and is capable of scoring from a distance.  

I'm happy to have a punt on Tadic to get himself on the scoresheet. He will be confident after recent impressive performances and he scored the equaliser against Twente in the previous Europa League match.  

Mourinho's presence could be a big factor. Fenerbahçe should achieve a positive result here. A Tadic goal would be excellent.

Man Utd are missing skipper Bruno Fernandes after he was sent off against Porto and Jonny Evans is injured, while there are starts for the likes of Victor Lindelof, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.
