FC Copenhagen vs. Manchester City Betting Tips: Back Haaland to score a header at a generous price in Denmark

Manchester City travel to Denmark on Tuesday to take on FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. We’ve previewed the action and have provided you with two data-driven tips that we think represent value.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won all three of their Group G matches so far this campaign scoring 11 goals and conceding on just one occasion. City swept away Southampton 4-0 at the Etihad on Saturday with that man Erling Haaland once again getting on the scoresheet with his 20th goal of the season in all competitions. 

After a 5-0 defeat in Manchester last week, Copenhagen currently sit bottom of the table with just one point from three matches so far. That point came at home to Sevilla in a goalless stalemate back in Matchday 2 and with the Danish side being level on points with the Spanish outfit, all is still to play for in terms of qualifying for the Europa League knockout stages which is awarded to the team that finishes third.

Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips will not feature in this match due to injury, while John Stones will be assessed before the game, although is unlikely to be risked. Sergio Gomez is expected to come back into the side at left-back with Joao Cancelo likely to switch to right-back. 

Copenhagen managed a 1-1 draw with Nordsjaelland in their domestic league at the weekend with manager Jacob Neestrup expected to name an unchanged side to that which lost in Manchester six days ago.

Arsenal moved back to top spot in the Premier League on Sunday but it’s still Manchester City who are the overwhelming favorites (1/5) after their third win in a row where they have scored at least three goals. Manchester City were dominant in the reverse fixture with Copenhagen, racking up 30 shots, 16 of which hit the target in what was a comfortable 5-0 victory.

City are in formidable form at the moment and are also the favourites in the Champions League winner market: priced at 2/1 to lift the trophy in June. In this game we are backing Pep’s side to win by at least three goals, by taking them with a -2 Match Handicap at 19/20 with bet365.

It’s now six wins in a row for the Sky Blues in all competitions in the last month, and they have won five of those by a three goal or bigger margin. We don’t see them slowing down anytime soon and at just a shade under even-money this looks the wise play for this Champions League clash on Tuesday.

Another selection we like the look of for this game is for Erling Haaland to score a header at a very backable 15/2 with bet365. In nine appearances so far in the Premier League the Norwegian has managed three headed goals with 26.3% of his attempts coming via his head. 

Skybet have this same selection ‘boosted’ from 7/2 to 9/2 which we think says a lot about the price we are getting here from 365. He most likely won’t feature for the full 90 minutes, but at the current price we certainly think Haaland is worth some consideration in this market.
