Fantasy Football Tips: Bring in Julian Alvarez for FPL Gameweek 6

Last weekend brought the most challenging gameweek of the season so far, with an average of just 44 points, which has seen a spike in the transfer market for the upcoming round of games. Here’s the must-have players for FPL Gameweek 6. Holly Shand returns with her must-have picks for the next round of fixtures.
Gameweek 5 Review
The curse of the most transferred in player continued, with Heung-Min Son failing to deliver an attacking return at home to Sheffield United. However, Awoniyi delivered once again with yet another attacking return.
It was a challenge for my own team too, with premium players Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka and Mohamed Salah the only players to deliver an attacking return and the defence hit by injuries and rotation. I’ve activated the wildcard!
Defender: Pervis Estupinan vs Bournemouth (H)
Pervis Estupinan’s absence from Brighton’s squad in Gameweek 5 against Manchester United raised some eyebrows but owners shouldn’t be concerned. He arrived late back from international duty having played 180 minutes but is expected to come back in for the home game against Bournemouth in Gameweek 6.
Estupinan remains one of the most attacking defenders in the game, with a leading tally of three goal involvements among defenders. He also leads the way for key passes (12) and big chances created (3). Bournemouth have failed to score in two of their five games this season.

Midfielder: Mohamed Salah vs West Ham (H)
Mohamed Salah continues to provide amazing consistency in FPL, delivering an attacking return in every single gameweek to date. A home game against West Ham could provide more returns, after scoring in each of his two games at Anfield this season. He has nine goals and three assists in 12 Premier League appearances against the Hammers.
West Ham are still looking for their first clean sheet of the season, conceding seven goals. Salah’s creativity has been key this season, leading the way for big chances created with six and for assists with four. Only Haaland can beat his 6.1 expected goal involvements from this campaign.
Forward: Julian Alvarez vs Nottingham Forest (H)
Another home game for Manchester City should bring goals, with six goals in two so far this season, and while Erling Haaland is the standout pick, team-mate Julian Alvarez is not far behind him with seven goal involvements this season. He scored a brace in this fixture last campaign, which ended 6-0 to Manchester City.
Alvarez is the most transferred in player for this week after playing an impressive 449 of a potential 450 minutes so far this campaign. He is heavily involved in set pieces for Manchester City with 17 corners taken this season and he was unlucky not to convert a free kick last weekend. He’s also ranked second for key passes with 16.
