Everton vs Newcastle Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Kieran Trippier in 7/1 double
Everton and Newcastle go head-to-head at Goodison Park in Saturday's 5:30pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports.
Tipster Oli Nixon has joined the Betting Odds team and has unearthed a couple of gems as his best bets for this Premier League clash.
Everton vs Newcastle Predictions
After claiming their first win of the season at Goodison last weekend, Everton will be coming into this game with renewed confidence that they can begin climbing the table.
Visitors Newcastle will be no easy proposition however, after being beaten just once so far and scoring in every game in all competitions this season.
Having seen off Howe’s Toon Army 3-0 in this fixture last season though, Sean Dyche will have every reason to believe that the Toffees can cause Newcastle plenty of problems under the Saturday evening lights.
With the bookies understandably expecting goals in this game, there’s no value to be found there and we’re instead headed to the player props markets with a focus on Kieran Trippier’s tackles and fouls where he’s opposing Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye.
If we delve into tackles first, numbers against Everton have been consistent all season with 5 of their 6 opposition right backs having made 2 or more tackles. This includes Pedro Porro, Araujo of Bournemouth and James Justin all making 3 whilst Lamare Bogarde made 5 for Aston Villa.
The only game where tackles weren’t prominent for an opposition right back was against Crystal Palace where Munoz uncharacteristically managed just 1 but right centre back Lacroix chipped in with 3 of his own. The data is similarly encouraging when it comes to fouls where the aforementioned right backs have combined for 7 fouls so far this season with half of them making 2 or more.
Much of this uptick in action down Everton’s left-hand side has been down to how direct Iliman Ndiaye is. The new signing has drawn at least 1 foul in every start this season at an average of 1.21 per 90 and by the same metric he has been dispossessed 1.52 times per game. These stats will come as no surprise to Sheffield United fans who will remember fondly how effective he was for them in his last season in England where he averaged 1.6 fouls drawn per game and was tackled 1.8 times per game too.

We know all about the opponent then but for this Bet Builder to land, we need Trippier to do the business. It is worth noting that he came off early with a muscular issue against Man City last weekend but all noise coming out of St James’ Park since has been that he is expected to be fit to start for this one.
The recently retired England international has been relatively consistent across his career for both tackles and fouls averaging 2 and 0.8 respectively and this season has been no different.
He’s committed 4 fouls across 210 minutes of Premier League action alongside 6 tackles at an average of 2.57 per 90.
Last weekend he faced a similarly direct opponent in Jack Grealish and made 3 tackles and 3 fouls in just 78 minutes to land both of these bets.
With Ndiaye full of confidence, we can expect him to be targeting Trippier and keeping him just as busy this weekend.
