England vs Pakistan Tips
England have had a disastrous defence of their World Cup, winning just two of their eight matches in the tournament, and they will be desperate to end on a high with victory over Pakistan.
Dawid Malan has been one of the few standout performers for the English side, hitting 373 runs in the tournament. His ability at the crease hasn’t been enough for England to have any real impact on the tournament but he could be key here in closing the tournament for his team.
Pakistan need to win this match by a big margin to overtake New Zealand in the running for the semi-final and they’ll be needing to take early wickets to help make this happen.
This could play into the hands of England, and Malan, who may be able to hit plenty of boundaries as Pakistan chase the win.
A price of 3/1 with BetMGM represents good value for a player that will be looking to lead from the front and remove the bitter taste in the mouth of England fans.
Another player who might benefit from Pakistan having to play on the offensive is Joe Root. He’s currently priced at evens to hit over 34.5 runs, something he’s failed to achieve in his last four outings.
Previous totals of 77 (vs New Zealand) and 82 (vs Bangladesh) have shown that Root still has the ability to be a big hitter for England, though, and with Pakistan chasing the win and the pressure being off England he could amass another big total in his final World Cup match.
Pakistan need the big win to qualify but England won’t be willing to roll over in what has been a desperately underwhelming tournament for them.
