England vs. Senegal Betting Tips: 11/2 fancy for last-16 match

Live on BBC, England go up against Senegal in this round-of-16 World Cup 2022 fixture at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday 4th December (7pm).
Tipster Wizard previews the match and pinpoints two of his favoured bets...
Gareth Southgate’s men started off with a win and a draw against Iran and USA before ending the group stages with an emphatic 3-0 win over their rivals Wales.
As a result, the Three Lions finished top of Group B to set up an exciting round of 16 clash against the AFCON champions Senegal who beat Ecuador 2-1 in the final group stage game to qualify for the knockouts.
This will be their first ever head-to-head meeting and even though England will come into it as favourites on paper, this could be a much more competitive game than many expect.
The Senegalese side are without their star man Sadio Mane but the team have stepped up in his absence and will head into this all-important clash full of confidence.
England will have to be at their best if they are to break down a stern Senegal defence to set up a quarter-final against the winner of France vs Poland while Senegal will be hopeful of carrying on their winning momentum.
A massive World Cup clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:

Idrissa Gueye is suspended for Senegal, while Cheikhou Kouyate is a doubt.

Senegal possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Sabaly, Koulibaly, Diallo, Jakobs: Nampalys, Pape Gueye, Pathe Ciss; Ndiaye, Dia, Sarr
England vs Senegal Tips
The four selections for this Betbuilder @ 4/5:
- Ismaila Sarr Over 0.5 shots
- Jude Bellingham Over 0.5 tackles
- Over 11.5 freekicks in the match for England
Ismaila Sarr is averaging 3 shots per game in the World Cup and has attempted 3 shots in all 3 games against Netherlands, Ecuador and Qatar.
He is one of Senegal’s main threats in the final third in the absence of Sadio Mane and loves shooting from distance too.
Jude Bellingham is averaging the most tackles for England in this World Cup campaign (2.3).
He has had 2, 2 and 3 tackles in the group stage fixtures and will be expected to get stuck in for England in the midfield again so backing him to get at least one tackle here in our betbuilder makes sense.
Finally, England have been awarded 17, 16 and 17 free kicks in their group stage fixtures and considering the significance of this game, I expect Senegal to use their physicality to their advantage and also disrupt England’s gameplay by racking up the fouls.
Combining these 3 selections gives us a solid bet365 betbuilder at odds of 4/5 and I am happy to take that as our main bet with a 1pt stake for this all important round of 16 clash.
Senegal won the African Cup of Nations conceding just 2 goals in the entire campaign, also keeping a clean sheet in the final and winning it on penalties.
England looked good in their win over Wales but have had a 0-0 already against USA earlier in the group where they were dominated.
Senegal will certainly feel they have a chance of causing an upset here and their best chance of doing that will be by keeping England quiet through their defence.
As a result of this, we could see a cagey affair with not many goals scored by either side.
England’s round of 16 clash in the previous edition of the World Cup against Colombia also went to penalties and at 11/2 for penalties, I am happy to take a small punt for there to be a repeat of that here.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
