Ecuador vs. Colombia Betting Tips: Two predictions for World Cup 2026 qualifier

Ecuador face Colombia at the Estadio de Liga Deportiva Universitaria on Wednesday (12.30am BST) in the fourth wave of CONMEBOL World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Ecuador have recorded two wins from their three matches to date, bouncing back from a narrow defeat to World Champions Argentina with 2-1 victories over Uruguay and Bolivia.
However, it's worth noting that Ecuador have three points to their name, not six, as they were deducted three points for falsifying birth documents. So they are 7th in the rankings, not 3rd.
Instead, it's Colombia who sit 3rd in the table behind Argentina and Brazil. The Coffee Growers overcame Venezuela in their opening fixture, which has been followed by draws against Chile and Uruguay.
Hosts Ecuador have been installed as the 21/20 favourites with BETMGM, a draw can be backed at 9/4 with bet365, while BetVictor have priced Colombia at 17/5 for the win.
Ecuador vs Colombia Tips
Ecuador may be hindered by that three point deduction, but on the field they've impressed with two wins from three qualification games.
In fact, they've won five of their last six games since March, with only Argentina getting the better of them during this streak thanks to a Lionel Messi goal 12 minutes from time.
The Tri can draw on an impressive home record in South American qualifiers, having gone seven matches unbeaten, losing only once in the last 10: During this time they've drawn with both Argentina and Brazil, and thrashed Colombia 6-1.
However, that heavy defeat was the only time Colombia have lost to Ecuador in the last six meetings. Manager Nestor Lorenzo has yet to suffer a single defeat since taking over, with seven wins and four draws from 11 games, while Colombia's unbeaten run stretches back even further to 14 games.
With that said, bet365's offer of 9/4 looks like decent value for the honours to be shared at the La Casa Blanca.
The second bet comes in the form of an 11/2 Bet Builder with bet365.
The first selection is a draw (9/4), as discussed in more detail above.
Both Teams To Score has been added to the betting pot at 11/10. Ecuador have scored in eight of their last nine matches and 11 of their last 12 in home World Cup qualifiers, while Colombia have found the back of the net in 12 of their last 14 matches in all competitions.
Finally, I've chosen Luis Diaz to have Over 1.5 Shots at 2/5 which boosts the Bet Builder up to 11/2.
It's a bet that's landed in five of his eight league games for Liverpool this season, including in his last two outings, while the winger scored in Colombia's 2-0 win against Germany in June.
