Denmark v England Tips: England to come out on top in Copenhagen

England will be looking to make it two wins from two in the Nations League as they take on Denmark in Copenhagen this evening. Southgate’s side managed a 1-0 win in their game on Saturday against Iceland, however they were given a late scare when Iceland were awarded a penalty at the end of the game before going on to miss.
Kyle Walker was sent off in that victory and will miss Tuesday evening’s game through suspension. Both Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden will not feature after they broke quarantine rules whilst in Iceland and Harry Winks, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson will also be absent.
Having a look at the odds for the match result and England are the 11/10 favourites with most firms given an implied 48% chance of picking up the win. The draw is available to be backed at 9/4 with bet365 currently being top-priced at 10/3 for a win for Denmark. I’ve picked out three football tips I like the look of for this game that can hopefully bring some joy to a rather autumnal Tuesday.
England to win - 1.5pts @ 6/5 Betfair Exchange
Christian Eriksen to have 2+ shots on target - 0.5pts @ 11/2 Betfair Sportsbook
Sterling & Dolberg 1+ shot on target, Gomez & Hojbjerg to be carded - 0.25pts @ 40/1 Paddy Power
After watching Saturday’s game against Iceland it would be easy to forget that the Three Lions had won their last three games to an aggregate score of 17-0. At 6/5 I think England look reasonably priced for the win on Tuesday evening and I’ll be having a little bit of that on the Betfair Exchange.
Against Iceland on Saturday England saw 78% possession of the ball throughout the 90 minutes and still managed 13 attempts on goal. Despite players not looking fully match fit I think our front three of Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling will have too much quality for Denmark.
The hosts were beaten 2-0 by Belgium at the weekend and I think we could see a similar scoreline this evening with England coming out on top. I don’t think it will be a goal-fest just like on Saturday and for me the logical bet here comes by having England onside to get the win at the rather generous 6/5. There is some price variance at the moment here so it may pay to shop around, bet365 are only offering 4/5 on the win for England so remember when trying to profit over the long-term it can really pay to take the best price available.
Next up I’m backing Christian Eriksen to have two or more shots on target for Denmark, priced at 11/2 with the betfair sportsbook. He was the only man to have a shot on target for his side in the defeat to Belgium at the weekend and we all know from his time in the Premier League that he has some serious weapons in his arsenal when it comes to letting off shots from range.
Eriksen has actually scored 25 goals in his last 38 games for Denmark, a very impressive strike rate for a midfielder. He’s the designated free-kick taker when around the box and I think it’s within his capabilities to land two on target against England. The price is key here and Skybet only have this selection at 9/4, half the price of 11/2 available from betfair!
Onto my longshot for the evening and I’ve picked out Raheem Sterling and Kasper Dolberg to have one or more shots on target with both Joe Gomez and Pierre Hojbjerg to be carded at 40/1 with Paddy Power.
Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game against Iceland via the penalty spot and he kicks-off proceedings in this Same Game Multi. He averaged over a shot on target per game for Manchester City last season (1.3) and I fancy him to land another in Copenhagen on Tuesday.
Kasper Dolberg also averaged over a shot on target per game (1.1) for his club last season. The forward scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 for Nice and should be the main threat in front of goal for the hosts.
Moving onto the cards and I’ve gone for Joe Gomez to pick up a caution. Once again he was booked on Saturday against Iceland and he’s the first player I want onside for a caution when it comes to Liverpool or England at the moment. In total he picked up seven yellows in just 22 starts in the Premier League last season and I’m hoping he’s thinking ‘he’s the big man’ this evening.
Rounding things off is Tottenham’s new signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to pick up a card. He received five yellows in the league last season for Southampton and I think he will have his hands full tonight potentially up against Jack Grealish, one of the most fouled players in European football.
Putting those four elements together gives us a 40/1 shot from Paddy Power. The game can be seen live on Sky Sports football at 19:45pm and as always please make sure to enjoy the game and gamble responsibly.
