Denmark vs. Croatia Predictions: Two selections from the shots markets for Friday's game in Copenhagen

Denmark have won both of their Nations League group matches so far and welcome Croatia to Copenhagen on Friday evening. We’ve previewed the action and have provided you with our best bets for the occasion.
Kasper Hjulmand’s side are currently top of League A Group 1, after a 2-1 victory in their opener against France, as well as a 2-1 win over Austria on Monday. Confidence is high for the Danes who reached the semi-finals of last summer’s European Championships, and off the back of a progressive couple of years, they are now just 25/1 to win the World Cup in Qatar, with only nine sides priced shorter in the betting.
The Nations League has not been a competition that Croatia have enjoyed since its inaugural running back in 2018. The Chequered Ones have only won two of their 12 Nations League matches and have conceded at least two goals in nine of those.
Head coach Zlatko Dalic has seen his side pick up just one point so far in Group 1, after a 3-0 defeat at home to Austria last week, before a 1-1 draw with France. Croatia put in a much better showing against France and will be looking to pick up their first win at the Parken Stadium.
Predicting starting line-ups at this tournament is proving incredibly difficult and for the hosts, Kasper Dolberg is the only doubt with a shoulder injury. Kasper Hjulmand is expected to make a good few changes here, with Mikkel Damsgaard, Martin Braithwaite and Rasmus Christensen all expected to be named in the starting line-up.
Ivan Perisic will miss the match for Croatia through injury, with plenty of changes also predicted for the visitors. Deja Caleta-Car and Marin Progracic could be handed starts in defence, with Rangers Borna Barisic having to settle for a place on the bench.
Denmark vs Croatia Tips
The first selection we are touting on Friday night is for Mikkel Damsgaard and Andrej Kramaric both to have two or more shots in the match. After playing the full 90 minutes in both of Denmark’s Nations League matches so far, it’s expected that Christian Eriksen will be given a rest with Mikkel Damsgaard to come into the side. The 21-year-old should be given the number 10 role behind strikers Martin Braithwaite and Andreas Cornelious.
Damsgaard became the first player to score a direct free-kick in the knockout rounds of the European Championships since Zinedine Zidane in 2000, when the Dane scored against England in the semi-final last summer. The 21-year-old should be on set free-kick duty on Friday and looking back at his shot data in competitive matches for Denmark, and in 10 starts he has cleared this line of 2+ shots in seven of them!
Paired with Damsgaard to have 2+ shots is Croatia’s Andrej Kramaric to have 2+ shots. The former Leicester City man should line up as the main striker for his side here and he’s been in good form over the last 12 months for his country with five goals in his last seven appearances. Two of those appearances were as a substitute and he found the net from the spot in Croatia’s 1-1 draw with France on Monday. Across his last eight matches for his national team, Kramaric averages 3.8 shots per game and combining him and Damsgaard to have two or more on Friday pays around 29/20 via the Paddy Power Bet Builder.
We’ll also be taking a punt on a longshot for this game at 24/1, with the same two players as above, but this time, for them both to have 2+ shots on target. We’ll start with Damsgaard and despite being a set-piece specialist, he has registered two or more shots on target in three of his ten starts for Denmark, twice hitting 3+. When it comes to Kramaric, the data looks even better with the 30-year-old recording 2+ shots on target in four of his last six starts for Croatia. This double pays 14/1 with bet365 in comparison to just north of 24/1 with Paddy Power, so we’d definitely be recommending the Irish bookmaker here.
Please gamble responsibly.
