Crystal Palace vs. Wolves Betting Tips: Ayew to hit the target at Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace welcome Wolves to Selhurst Park on Sunday with the game being shown live on Sky Sports kicking off at 2pm. We’ve asked our man Anthony Eadson to provide us with two tips that he likes the look of for the occasion.
Taking a look at the match result odds and Crystal Palace are the odds-on favourites to collect three points, priced at 5/6. The draw is on show at 9/5 and Wolves can be backed at 3/1 to get their second win of the 2023/24 campaign.
Crystal Palace vs Wolves Tips
Ten of the last 11 meetings between these two sides have featured Under 2.5 goals, but with that selection being priced at just 8/13 for this clash I’ve decided to look elsewhere for my main play of the afternoon.
The one that jumped off the screen when scouring the markets was for Jordan Ayew to register one shot on target, available at evens (1/1) with Paddy Power and Betfair. Other betting sites such as Sky Bet have this selection much shorter at 8/13, while William Hill go just 1/2.
After the departure of Wilfried Zaha I feel there will be more impetus on Jordan Ayew to provide goals for Crystal Palace. The 31-year-old has already let off 10 attempts this season, recording five against Brentford last weekend. Ayew has hit the target in two of his three matches this term and I fancy him to do so against Wolves at an attractive price.
I’ve also had some loose change on both Craig Dawson and Max Kilman to give away 2+ fouls, which again is with Paddy Power or Betfair, but this time at 18/1. A large proportion of my thinking behind this one is due to the high ‘fouls won’ figures produced by Crystal Palace’s attack. No player in the league has drawn more fouls than Jordan Ayew this season with ten, while Eberechi Eze isn’t far behind with seven.
This has resulted in me targeting the two central defenders for Wolves in the player fouls market with both Craig Dawson and Max Kilman featuring. The former has given away a foul in all three league matches this season with figures of 1,2,2 and when looking at Kilman’s foul totals this season they read: 2,3,0.
Combining the duo to both give away two or more on Sunday pays 18/1, which looks a little too big in my eyes.
