Crystal Palace begin their Conference League journey at home to Fredrikstad on Thursday in the first leg of their play-off tie, live on 5 at 8pm.

Palace, who memorably won last season's FA Cup, have been forced to settle for Europe's third-tier competition after they were controversially denied a spot in the Europa League, a place which Nottingham Forest have subsequently snapped up.

The Eagles will look to put this saga behind them when they come up against Norwegian side Fredrikstad, who have dropped down into the play-offs after their own hopes of entering the Europa League were ended by Midtjylland in the third qualifying round.

As for Fredrikstad, they are fresh off the disappointment of back-to-back defeats to Midtjylland - 3-1 at home and 2-1 away - while they've lost eight of their last 14 matches in all competitions, carving out just two wins in that time.

Eberechi Eze continues to be hotly linked with a switch to Spurs, although he's expected to take to the field against Fredrikstad in what could prove to be his final outing for Palace.

Eze was electric last season with 25 goal involvements in 43 games, including seven goals in his final seven outings in all competitions. He also saw a stunning free-kick ruled out by VAR in Palace’s opening-day draw at Chelsea.

Eze opened the scoring in four of those games and is 9/2 to break the deadlock on Thursday.
