Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Betting Tips: Back Romero to rack up the fouls
Crystal Palace welcome Tottenham to Selhurst Park on Wednesday in the Premier League and we've got Tipster J on hand with his best bets for the action.
Patrick Vieira’s side should definitely have eyes on a top half finish, and they took one step closer to achieving this goal in their last League outing as they cruised to a 2-0 victory away to Bournemouth just 4 days ago. Goals from Jordan Ayew and Eberechi Eze were enough to secure all 3 points for Palace’s second away win of the season, with there other 4 wins coming on home soil. Eberechi Eze’s goal at Bournemouth made it 3 for the season, just 2 short of what he managed in his previous 47 Premier League Appearances.
Tottenham’s season just seems to continue on a downward spiral, they have now slipped to 5th in the Premier League table following a 2-0 loss on home soil to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. Another loss here would make it just 5 points from a possible 18 for Antonio Contes side, so a reaction is certainly needed in their bid to finish in the top four. A return to the starting 11 for Swede Dejan Kulusevski could be huge for the Lilywhites, as well a return for Eric Dier. Yves Bissouma misses out through suspension.Crysta
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Tips
Cristian Romero is certainly not afraid to get stuck in, and even money for him to commit 2 or more fouls looks a solid bet.
He will start on the right side of a back 3 for Tottenham and will have to deal with the constant threat of Eze and Zaha down that flank, who both rank in the top 3 for fouls drawn at Crystal Palace. Zaha averaging 3.1 fouls drawn per game, and Eze 1.9.
Looking at Romero’s numbers bode well for this bet as well. The recent World Cup winners numbers read 3,1,2,2 for fouls committed at Tottenham and 3,2,2,1,3 for Argentina, so clearing this line on many occasions already this season.
I’ve already touched on Romero and what he faces Wednesday evening, and with that being considered I do think he will do well to escape a booking in this fixture.
As for Wilfred Zaha, he was at the centre of both games Vs Spurs in last seasons Premier league. He was sent off in the game at Spurs for 2 yellows inside 35 minutes, and in the home fixture was booked for a scuffle with Japhet Tanganga who followed this with a second yellow card for himself. Zaha is always a yellow card risk wether it’s for diving or mouthing off to the referee, he is a prime candidate for a card here. Hopefully we can see a direct scuffle between him and Romero as they should cross paths down that flank on a few occasions Wednesday evening…
