Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal Betting Tips: Jesus to start the Gunners Partey

The Premier League is back underway for another action packed season as Selhurst Park host’s Friday nights clash between Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. We've asked Tom Winch to preview this one and select his best two bets.
Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal Tips
Crystal Palace have had a rather quiet transfer window, Conor Gallagher has returned back to Chelsea after a standout season in South London whilst Cheikou Kouyate has moved on after 4 seasons with the club. Sam Johnstone and Malcolm Ebiwei have moved to the London club after starring in the Championship last campaign meanwhile Bayern defender Chris Richards is the only other real notable player who has joined the club.
Selhurst Park is never the easiest of places to go as an away side, the home fans are always lively and make the place intimidating which showed last campaign as Palace finished the season with a +10 goal difference accumulating 29 points. They took 4 points off Arteta’s boys last season including the 3-0 win here back in April.
Mikel Arteta has played the same starting eleven in back to back games now which gives a good indication on how he’ll set up in the opening game, the team will be brimming with confidence, however will still need a professional performance on Friday night.
In what should be an interesting watch on Friday night backing individual markets looks the best way in as a betting angle. Arsenal will be wanting to get off to a win here after losing on the opening day to newcomers Brentford last campaign. The pressure is certainly on Arteta’s side here as they’re expected to come away with a result but only time will tell if they can replicate their preseason form heading into the 2022/2023 Premier League season.
The Gunners have looked mightily impressive over the summer with new signing Gabriel Jesus scoring seven times across his five appearances in his new colours after a switch from current Premier League champions, Manchester City. The Brazilian international bagged a hat-trick at the Emirates in his first game as an Arsenal player.
Given the Brazilian’s quick start to life in North London I’m willing to back him to open his Premier League account on the opening day, he’s been scoring for fun and with the attacking talent Arsenal now have in their ranks they should be making plenty of goalscoring opportunities.
The Ghanaian international was booked in 5 appearances last season from 24 and also found himself in the book in his most recent to trip to Selhurst Park. Likely to play on the right side of holding midfield alongside Granit Xhaka he’ll be given the task in helping to take care of Wilfried Zaha who himself has been right amongst the goals in pre-season.
Everyone knows about Zaha’s qualities, his trickery, strength and incredible turn of pace and Partey wont want to find himself in a foot race with the Ivorian. 12/5 seems reasonable for a caution, overtime Zaha is fouled he and the fans will give an earful to the referee reminding him to brandish his cards.
