Cricket World Cup 2023 Leading Run Scorer Favourites
Rohit Sharma (India): 4/1
India skipper Rohit Sharma moved to the top of the betting market, 4/1, after he smashed 86 off 63 balls in his country's win over rivals Pakistan.
Sharma has now accumulated 217 runs so far this tournament, putting him third on the leaderboard.
Quinton de Kock (South Africa): 6/1
Second in the betting, you'll find Quinton de Kock at 6/1.
South Africa's opener blasted home 109 runs during his side's defeat of Australia, which followed his 100 tally in the victory over Sri Lanka.
He is absolutely flying at the moment and has a game in hand on all of his main rivals.
Devon Conway (New Zealand): 7/1
The 32-year-old has got off to a great start to the World Cup, scoring 229 runs in New Zealand’s opening three games.
His 152, against England, is the highest individual score in the tournament so far and propelled him into the upper echelon of the betting.
With New Zealand expected to go far, Conway could put up a huge total.
Virat Kohli (India): 9/1
Virat Kohli rocketed out of the blocks with a total of 85 against Australia, which he followed up with a 55 not out against Afghanistan, and a 16 against Pakistan.
His upcoming outing against Bangladesh gives him an ideal chance to increase his total.
Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan): 10/1
Top of the Batsman table at the time of writing is Mohammad Rizwan who is sitting pretty on 248 runs.
Rizwan opened up with 68 runs against the Netherlands, followed by 131 against Sri Lanka, then 49 against India.
Dawid Malan (England): 16/1
A disappointing 14 against New Zealand didn’t set Malan back too much, with an impressive 140 against Bangladesh showing his hitting ability.
He would have set his sights on more than 32 against Afghanistan but it was still England's second-highest tally on what was a poor team display.
He’s got competition within the England squad, with Joe Root also featuring heavily in the top run scorers list, but Malan is the more likely to hit the boundary with regularity.
Joe Root (England): 20/1
Consistent high scoring could be key to Root’s success in this tournament, with 77 against New Zealand followed up with 82 runs against Bangladesh.
Like the majority of his teammates, Root would then disappoint against Afghanistan.
With tougher fixtures on the horizon, Root will need to elevate his game.
