Chelsea vs. Real Madrid Betting Tips: Vinicius Junior backed at Stamford Bridge

Live on BT Sport 1, Chelsea host Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge (8pm).
Tipster Wizard has pieced together a Bet Builder and picked out a fancy in the anytime assists market...
Chelsea are having a terrible season by their standards, sitting 11th in the Premier League table and now without a win in their last six consecutive games in all competitions.
Since Graham Potter was sacked, Chelsea have lost all three games under interim manager Frank Lampard, and the performances have dipped significantly.
The first leg in Madrid ended in a comfortable 2-0 win for the Spanish giants as Karim Benzema gave them the lead in the 21st minute before Ben Chilwell was sent off in the 59th minute.
Marco Asensio then came off the bench to give Carlo Ancelotti’s men a two-goal lead going into the second leg in London and they will feel confident of progression to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
These two sides have been drawn against each other for the third consecutive season, with Chelsea progressing in 2021 when they went on win the competition, while Madrid knocked Chelsea out last year on their way to winning the competition as well.
It is highly unlikely that a struggling Chelsea side will be able to overturn this scoreline but stranger things have happened in this sport and Real Madrid will certainly not underestimate Chelsea.
A cracking Champions League clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with two of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
Kalidou Koulibaly, Ben Chilwell & Armando Broja are out for Chelsea while Kai Haverz & Carney Chukwuemeka are doubtful.
Ferland Mendy is out for Real Madrid.
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Kepa; James, Fofana, Silva, Cucurella; E. Fernandez, Kante, Kovacic; Mudryk, Havertz, Felix
Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Camavinga; Modric, Valverde, Kroos; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
Chelsea vs Real Madrid Tips
Bet Builder Selections:
- Over 10.5 shots in the match for Chelsea
- Over 0 goals in the 2nd half
- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Chelsea
Chelsea are averaging 15.5 shots per game at home in the Champions League this season and are trailing 2-0 on aggregate which should help them comfortably clear the “Over 10.5 shots line”.
I expect the final 45 minutes of this game to be very open as Chelsea go all-out attack and leave open spaces behind for Madrid to counter, so backing a second-half goal makes sense.
Finally, I expect Chelsea to make a lot of cynical fouls, especially in the second-half as Madrid look to counter and that should result in a second-half card for them.
They received three yellow cards and a red card in the first leg and with a card-happy referee Daniele Orsato in charge, just one Chelsea card in the final 45 minutes should be a banker.
Combining these three selections gives us a solid Bet Builder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this massive game.
Vinicius Junior has had four assists in his last six appearances for Real Madrid including an assist for Karim Benzema’s goal against Chelsea in the first leg.
With the onus on Chelsea to attack, Vinicius will get plenty of opportunities on the counter to carry the ball and pass it towards the clinical Benzema.
A Vinicius assist is as low as 2/1 with other bookmakers so at 4/1 (bet365), we are getting great value and I am happy to stake 0.25pt on it as our second selection for this game.
