Carabao Cup Predictions 2023/24: Fourth Round picks
Six of this season's eight Carabao Cup Fourth Round fixtures take place this Wednesday. Here at BettingOdds.com we've evaluated the four most interesting matchups and provided you with our predictions for the outcome of each game.
Carabao Cup Fourth Round Predictions
West Ham vs Arsenal
- Wednesday 1st November, 7:30pm, Sky Sports Main Event
In their third-round matches both teams secured 1-0 victories. The Irons managed to edge past Lincoln City, while Mikel Arteta's squad narrowly beat Brentford. However, West Ham have not beaten Arsenal since Jan 2019 and on current form this match is only going one way, with bubbles being burst in East London.
Michael Bates' Prediction: West Ham 0-3 Arsenal
Bournemouth vs Liverpool
- Wednesday 1st November, 7:45pm
Andoni Iraola steered Bournemouth to their first league win of the season, helping them crawl out of the Premier League drop zone for now at least. Liverpool's only loss of the campaign remains the dubious 10-man defeat to Tottenham in September, and having beaten The Cherries 3-1 at Anfield already this term, not even rotations or an away trip to the Vitality Stadium can stop them from progressing to the competition's fifth round.
Luke Hamilton's Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool
Chelsea vs Blackburn
- Wednesday 1st November, 7:45pm
Blackburn managed wins over Premier League opposition in both the FA and League Cup last season under Jon Dahl Tomasson. They are the top scorers in the League Cup this term after bagging a whopping 17 goals across three matches and I believe they can get on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge. Ultimately, the gap in quality between the sides is very likely to be shown in the second half as Chelsea bring on some of their bigger names from the bench. A high-scoring contest could be on the cards with the hosts coming away the eventual winners.
Anthony Eadson's Prediction: Chelsea 4-2 Blackburn
Man Utd vs Newcastle
- Wednesday 1st November, 8:15pm, Sky Sports Football
The stand-out tie of the fourth round is a repeat of last year’s final as holders Man Utd lock horns with Newcastle. Erik ten Hag is feeling the heat after a 3-0 derby defeat and I don’t see the pressure cooling on Wednesday against Newcastle, who are unbeaten in seven domestic fixtures and knocked out Man City in the last round.
Jack Kitson's Prediction: Man Utd 0-1 Newcastle
