Cameroon vs. Comoros Prediction: Aboubakar to finally sink The Coelacanths

The Africa Cup of Nations has reached the knockout stages and we will have previews and tips for every game moving forward. We have asked our man OddsTerrier to cover the tie between hosts Cameroon and shock qualifiers Comoros on Monday and to pick out two tips for your perusal.
AFCON debutants Comoros are the fairy tale story of the tournament so far but they are going to be right up against it here on Monday evening. Not only are they up against a host nation that is ebullient and full of momentum, but they are also in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak. They are missing six players, including two goalkeepers, yet have had some great news today with the negative test result for back up keeper Ali Ahamada - at one point yesterday it looked like they would have to start an outfield player in goal. They are however, missing head coach Amir Abdou who has also tested positive.
Cameroon have a full squad to pick from, with no injury issues and are big favourites here, best priced at 1/7. The draw is a large 10/1 and if you fancy Comoros to do the unthinkable and shock the rest of Africa, then you can get a huge 35/1 on them to do so. Cameroon are also now clear favourites to win the tournament after the shock departure of Nigeria at the weekend.
Cameroon vs. Comoros Tips
Cameroon vs. Comoros Odds
Our first selection is in the Total Goals market. We heavily fancy goals for Cameroon here. They have scored seven goals in three games thus far and have plenty of firepower, including top scorer Vincent Aboubakar, Karl Toko Ekambi and Choupo-Moting. However, they are yet to keep a clean sheet and Comoros will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet in this one. Given the Covid disruptions in the Comoros camp this week, I think the Indomitable Lions will capitalise and score early which will force the minnows to come forward, further exposing their brittle back line.
The Over 3.5 goals pick looks the value bet in this one at 23/18.
Next up and of course, our prop bet is based around the star of the tournament Vincent Aboubakar. The 29-year-old currently plays his football for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and is in stunning form, scoring five goals in his first three games. Aboubakar is Cameroon's second highest ever scorer (30 national goals) after Samuel Eto'o (50) and will be hopeful of a bagful here to close in on that total. A threat from open play and the penalty spot, Aboubakar is the fulcrum to any attack for the Cameroon outfit and should get chances galore here.
William Hill have boosted the price on Aboubakar to score twice to 10/3. He is as short as 9/4 at most other bookmakers and I think it represents value in a mismatch like this.
As always please remember to gamble responsibly and enjoy the football.
