Burnley vs. Watford Betting Tips: The Clarets backed to show how good they are at Turf Moor

Burnley host Watford in a Tuesday night Championship clash at 8pm. We’ve looked at the betting market for this game and picked out two tips that represent good value.
Last season this would have been a Premier League fixture but these two will meet in the Championship this time and both clubs are looking for a swift return to the top of English football. Last year this game finished 0-0 so we’ll be hoping for a lot more goals in this one.
Burnley are at the top of the table at the moment and they can go 10 points clear with a win over Watford. On the other hand, Watford are in 6th place but can go level on points with Luton in 4th if this result goes in their favour.
Burnley come in as the heavy favourites at around 8/13 with Watford being priced at 9/2 for an upset.
As previously mentioned, Burnley are by far the best team in the Championship this season and although these teams may be close in the table, this could be a long day at the office for Watford.
Burnley have been unstoppable at Turf Moor this season and are yet to lose a game at their home ground in the Championship so far. In their last 10 games at home they’ve won all 10, scoring 25 goals in the process and only conceding five.
Watford are a decent side but they’re massively up against it in this one. Like we said, Burnley are incredible at home, but you add to that Watford’s away record, and this game looks like it’s already slipping away from the visitors without a ball even being kicked: the Hornets have only managed to win one of their last five away trips, recently losing to Swansea City 4-0, and Reading and Boro 2-0.
I don’t see a world where Watford do anything here, everything is stacked against them and it’d be a mighty upset if it were to happen. We’ll therefore be backing Burnley in the handicap market and taking -1 at 7/4.
Nathan Tella has been inspirational for Burnley this season, scoring 14 times and assisting on two occasions. Only one player has scored more than Tella in the Championship this season and that is Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom. When it comes to Burnley’s top scorer, he is four ahead of anyone else in the squad.
In Burnley’s last game, the winger proved again why he is their main man this season, scoring three goals against Preston in 58 minutes. The game before that he scored both of Burnley’s goals in a 2-1 win against Ipswich.
All of these stats make the 16/5 on offer for him to score anytime against Watford very attractive. Burnley are by far the best team in the Championship at the moment and that is evident from their league position. The bookmakers are expecting them to have a comfortable win against Watford and if that is the case, I expect Tella to be on the scoresheet.
