Burnley vs. Leicester Predictions: Back Ben Mee to find the net against the Foxes

Burnley vs Leicester Odds
There’s FA Cup fifth-round fixtures taking place this week but there is also one Premier League game on Tuesday evening as Burnley welcome Leicester to Turf Moor. We’ve asked our man @AnthonyEadson to provide us with his best bets for the action from East Lancashire.
After collecting a point in a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday, Burnley now find themselves just one point away from safety. It’s just one defeat in their last seven matches for Sean Dyche’s men with them also keeping four clean sheets in that period.
Leicester did not have a game at the weekend as their match with Chelsea was postponed due to their involvement in the League Cup. That may give the Foxes a little bit of an edge in terms of fitness however, Brendan Rodgers’ side have failed to win their last five matches in the league, with all of their last four on the road resulting in defeat.
Jamie Vardy could well return to the Leicester side on Tuesday evening with his side not having won a league game since his injury at the back end of December. Ricardo Pereira is back is fit and available although this game comes too soon for James Justin who picked a hamstring injury against West Ham.
Maxwel Cornet was an unused substitute against Crystal Palace at the weekend and will be assessed on the day. Charlie Taylor was a substitute that was used in that game and could well make his return to the starting line-up at the expense of Erik Pieters.
Burnley vs Leicester Tips
Over recent weeks Burnley have shown that stiff jaw of theirs that has helped remain in the Premier League over the last few seasons. Those performances have helped them grind out some important results with draws against Palace, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Watford as well as wins against Spurs and Brighton, all in their last seven matches.
I’m expecting another strong showing from the Clarets on Tuesday in some wet and blustery conditions in the North West. Both my selections in this match revolve around one of Burnley’s centre-backs, Ben Mee, with the first of those being for the 32-year-old to have 2+ shots in the game which is available at 11/4 with both Paddy Power and Betfair.
This season the defender has recorded 20 shots in 20 matches for Burnley with 12 of those coming on home soil. That’s an average of 1.2 shots per game at Turf Moor this season and I fancy him to have a couple against Leicester considering how shaky the Foxes have been from set-pieces this season.
No team in the Premier League has conceded more goals from set-pieces than Leicester, who along with Leeds and Crystal Palace have conceded 13. This leads me on nicely to my second pick for this game which is Ben Mee to get on the scoresheet anytime.
Bet Victor go 4/1 and Sky Bet 5/1 about Mee getting on the scoresheet against Leicester. Compare that to the 14/1 available over at bet365 and I think we are getting a nice little bit of value.
32% of Burnley’s goals have come from set-pieces this season and with Leicester conceding so many goals via that route this season I think the home side will try and exploit this. Only Maxwel Cornet has scored more goals for Burnley in the league this season than Ben Mee who has three to his name.
Two of those three goals came straight from set-pieces while the other was from a free-kick which was cleared before the ball being pumped back in for Mee to still be lurking in the box. All things considered here I feel we are getting a really good price on him finding the net on Tuesday evening.
