BTTS Tips: 11/1 four fold for Tuesday's League Cup ties
Midweek brings a break to the league fixtures and the resumption of the Carabao Cup with a full slate of Second Round fixtures. We have picked out our favourite four selections for our regular Both Teams To Score accumulator. It pays a little under 11/1 with bet365 using their Accumulator Bonus.
Bolton Wanderers vs Aston Villa
We start in the north west and a cracking looking tie at the UniBol. Ian Evatt's high-flying League One side Bolton host Premier League strugglers Aston Villa, with manager Steven Gerrard already finding himself under pressure, after a couple of disappointing results. Bolton lost their first game in 14 outings on Saturday against a strong Sheffield Wednesday and will be keen to respond to that disappointment with a statement giant killing in the EFL Cup.
Villa haven't kept a clean sheet so far this season and have seen BTTS hit in 2 out of their 3 games thus far. Bolton are usually pretty formidable at home and I'd expect them to bag at least one here.
Bradford City vs Blackburn Rovers
Another superb looking clash in the north is next up, this time over in neighbouring West Yorkshire and a tie from the University of Bradford stadium between League Two City and Championship Rovers. Blackburn started the season in perfect fashion, winning three straight before two straight 3-0 defeats put their promotion hopes firmly on ice. Bradford, meanwhile are sat in mid-table but picked up a nice 3-1 win away at Hartlepool last time out. Mark Hughes' side are one of the favourites to go up, so may see this competition as a distraction, but it's only nine years since they reached the final of this competition whilst still a League Two side.
Rovers have shown their vulnerability of late and City are unbeaten at Valley Parade so I can see both teams netting in this one.
Derby County vs West Bromwich Albion
Next up we're in the East Midlands and a battle between League One Derby County and Championship West Brom. Steve Bruce's charges had a really poor start to the season, with three draws and a loss but battered high-flyers Hull City 5-2 last time out. Derby have reacted to their relegation to the third tier fairly well but two nil-nil draws in the last two games has seen them fall out of the play-off places. Interim Boss Liam Rosenior will be hoping to take one step further to claiming this job on a regular basis and a win over a higher ranked team would certainly help.
The Baggies have conceded in four of their five games this season and although County have had problems scoring, I can see them breaching the Albion back line. West Brom definitely have firepower of their own to cause Derby issues themselves.
Norwich City vs AFC Bournemouth
Last up and we have two of the relegation and promotion sides from last season. New Premier League boys Bournemouth travel to Carrow Road to face Championship Norwich. The Canaries started the season poorly but two straight home wins have seen them rise to just outside the play-off picture. Dean Smith will hope they can carry on that strong home form again, in the cup here. The Cherries were the overwhelming favourites to finish bottom of the Premier League but they started in impressive fashion, beating Villa on the first day of the season. Since then, however, they have shipped seven goals without scoring and will already be nervously looking over their shoulders.
This should be a really close game given the two clubs fortunes in the respective leagues. I'm expecting both teams to score here and a hatful of goals.
The four bets pay just under 11/1 at bet365 and benefits from a 10% Accumulator Bonus boost.
