BTTS Tips: Four-fold for Tuesday's Champions League offering
Football makes a welcome return on the largest of European stages when Tuesday serves up seven ties. Here at BettingOdds.com we've selected four matches in which we fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet and have combined the picks to form this four-fold which pays 5.19/1 as well as a 10% bonus with bet365.
Sporting vs Tottenham
In a match that pits the two frontrunners of Group B against one another, Sporting vs Tottenham should be anything but uneventful in one of the day's early kick offs.
The pair both got off to winning ways last week - Sporting demolished Frankfurt in Germany while Tottenham put Marseille to the sword on home soil. Neither may have conceded a goal in their Champions League openers, but the competitive nature of this meeting coupled with Sporting's home advantage will force Antonio Conte's men to dig deep if they're to return to England with any points.
As Chelsea exhibited last Tuesday, anything can happen in these earlier scheduled match ups. And Pedro Goncalves' four league goals in six games is a threat that could easily punish Spurs if they aren't careful.
Bayern Munich vs Barcelona
Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich dusted off the early season cobwebs last week, cruising to a 2-0 victory over Inter on match day one. Barcelona romped home with a 5-1 tonking over the visiting Viktoria Plzen at the Nou camp.
These two have met five times since 2015, with three of those coming in the past two years. Most will remember the humiliating 8-2 defeat for Barca, and although things didn't get much better in the two encounters since then, this is a different FCB we're looking at.
Xavi has his feet firmly under the table in charge of the Spanish giants, who have conceded just one goal domestically so far. Flip that for Bayern who cannot seem to convert draws into wins and occupy uncharted waters in the Bundesliga's third spot.
BTTS backers have been rewarded with success in Bayern's last three league matches, taking them to five out of nine clearances for the new campaign.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid
Speaking of ropey starts, Leverkusen sit second from bottom in the Bundesliga having only managed one win from their initial six games. Similarly, Atletico will be desperate to change a slow pace which sees them currently occupy sixth place in La Liga.
On paper this has quite an evenly matched vibe to it, with both teams scoring in Atletico's last three and 2/3 in Leverkusen's case.
The German side have scored just one goal fewer than Atletico on the domestic front with eight, and holding the home advantage should manoeuvre their Spanish counterparts into making more of a game out of this one.
Liverpool vs Ajax
Completing this both teams to score four-fold are Liverpool who appear to be on everybody's slips at this moment in time. LFC have seen a familiar number of goals at either end of the pitch in their matches so far, having scored 15 and conceded six, but the way things have played out means their hopes of a title charge are already dwindling.
On the contrary, Ajax have made a perfect start to their Eredivisie campaign under Alfred Schreuder, hitting 21 goals and letting in only three themselves. Their impressive 4-0 mauling of Rangers only solidified the type of challenge they can pose on the European stage, and Anfield offers them a real platform to showcase this.
We already know what Liverpool can do offensively, as well as the frailties they suffer when defending opposition attacks. Ajax have scored in each of their four away fixtures this term, netting six goals. They kept Rangers at bay last Wednesday, limiting them to just four shots; one of which was on target.
