Brighton vs Southampton Prediction, Odds and Lineups: Seagulls can soar to 2nd in the Premier League
South coast rivals Brighton and Southampton meet in the Premier League at the Amex in the rarely used Friday night slot, in a game that can be viewed live on Sky Sports at 8pm.
Brighton vs Southampton Predictions
Considering the contrasting form of these two teams, my pick is Brighton to Win and Brighton Over 2 Goals at 23/20 for the first bet.
The Seagulls are soaring under summer appointee Fabian Hurzeler, who has led them to 5th place with six wins and four draws in his first 12 matches. A victory on Friday night could propel Brighton to an impressive 2nd place, ahead of Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Brighton remain unbeaten at home under Hurzeler and have scored 21 goals this season - matching Arsenal and just one behind City. Their attacking prowess will likely exploit a vulnerable Southampton defence that has conceded 24 goals in 12 games.
History also favours Brighton, who won 3-1 twice last season against Southampton, a side that has leaked in three goals in six games already this season.
Adding to Southampton’s woes, the Saints sit at the bottom of the league with only four points from a possible 36. They’ve lost 10 of their 12 matches, including all six away games, and have won just one of their last 25 Premier League fixtures. It’s shaping up to be another tough outing for Southampton fans.

For my second bet, I’ve crafted a Black Friday Bet Builder featuring Joao Pedro to Score, Adam Armstrong Over 0.5 Shots on Target, and Flynn Downes Over 0.5 Fouls, available at 5/1 with bet365.
Joao Pedro is in red-hot form, netting four goals in his last five outings, including strikes in back-to-back 2-1 victories over Man City and Bournemouth. With a Premier League goal every 93 minutes and a remarkable 44% conversion rate—the best among top-flight players this season—Pedro is a solid choice to find the net again.
Meanwhile, Southampton striker Adam Armstrong has also developed a taste for goals of late, having scored twice in his last three games, including a goal against Liverpool last time out. Armstrong, who is on penalties, has registered at least one shot on target in three of his last four matches, making him a strong contender to deliver again on Friday.
Lastly, Flynn Downes looks set to add to his foul tally at The Amex. The Southampton midfielder has committed 19 fouls this season, recording at least one in eight of his 11 appearances. With four bookings already, his aggressive playstyle makes him a reliable pick for this leg of the bet.
