Brighton vs Liverpool Prediction: Two Tips at 5/1, Team News & Lineups

Champions Liverpool take on Brighton at 8pm tonight under the AMEX lights in the final Monday Night Football of the Premier League season, live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
The Reds have clearly been enjoying their title celebrations, while Brighton’s hopes of securing European football have taken a major hit following Crystal Palace’s FA Cup win.
Still, Matthew O’Regan has taken a close look at the markets and believes he’s found some real value, including a couple of 5/1 shots worth considering.
Brighton vs Liverpool Prediction
Brighton vs Liverpool Preview
A resounding 5-1 win over Tottenham secured Liverpool the Premier League title - their first triumph in front of fans since 1990.
The Reds have far and away been the best side in the Premier League and the title was duly deserved. Since then, a 3-1 loss at Chelsea and a 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal have followed - signs Liverpool have taken their foot off the gas.
If these results weren’t evident enough, Arne Slot has been pictured partying in Ibiza this week, while the squad have all flown to Dubai and won’t return until Friday. A heavily rotated Liverpool side is expected to turn up at the AMEX, which will please their European-chasing hosts.
Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph appears to have all but ended Brighton’s hopes of securing a place in next season’s Conference League. Their slim chance now hinges on two things: Chelsea beating Real Betis in the Conference League final, while also finishing 7th in the Premier League (they are currently 4th) - provided Brighton overtake Brentford to claim 8th place.
Given their record against the big six this season, Albion will relish the visit of Liverpool. Hurzeler’s side have done the double over Manchester United, as well as beating Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City at home, claiming a point at the Emirates and Etihad too. They are unbeaten at home against the big six this season, taking 13 points from a possible 15, so will fancy their chances against a Liverpool side with nothing to play for.
Brighton vs Liverpool Tips
With much rotation expected, Wataru Endo should be given a rare start. Liverpool end the season at home to Crystal Palace, so it is likely that Arne Slot picks fringe players for the game at Brighton and goes full strength in front of a packed-out Anfield.
Endo has become a fan favourite at Liverpool. The 32-year-old has been used sparingly this campaign, being brought on to help see out leads. While he is averaging 2.25 fouls per 90, Endo is only averaging 0.11 yellow cards per 90 this campaign.
Centre midfielders against Brighton have been busy this season, with 34 in total being booked - including Endo in the Carabao Cup clash.
Mats Wieffer signed from Feyenoord in the summer with big expectations. After impressing in his debut against Everton, the Dutch international has been plagued with injuries, making it hard for him to establish a place in the side.
However, in recent weeks he has been deployed at right back and has stood out.
In the win at Wolves, the 25-year-old made nine tackles while committing just one foul - a foul he was booked for. Wieffer is averaging 1.99 fouls and 0.54 yellow cards per 90 this season. Over the last 30 games this total rises to 0.89 per 90 - so the Dutch international looks a large price for a yellow.
Brighton vs Liverpool Team News
Brighton will hope that defenders Lewis Dunk and Joel Veltman are back, while Joao Pedro returns from a three game ban.
Liverpool are likely to make a number of changes following their title celebrations.
