Brighton vs. Liverpool Betting Tips: Side with Salah to provide an assist
Sunday looks an absolute cracker in the Premier League with Brighton against Liverpool and Arsenal against Manchester City both being shown live on Sky Sports. We’ve previewed the action from the Amex Stadium and have made a case for two bets we like the look of.
Brighton managed their first ever point in European football on Thursday as they came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Marseille. Liverpool were also in Europa League action on Matchday 2 as they secured a 2-0 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise.
Taking a look at the match result market for this top-flight clash and bookmakers have chalked-up the visitors as the 21/20 favourites to collect three points on the South Coast. The draw can be sided with 14/5, while 9/4 is widely available with most trusted betting sites for those who want to get behind Brighton on Sunday.
Brighton vs Liverpool Tips.
As Brighton get to grips with featuring in both domestic and European formats, I don’t think it’s wise to be siding with them to get a result and for my main play of the afternoon I’ve taken a lean towards a selection from bet365’s new player fouls market.
Solly March is the man I’m targeting to give away at least two fouls in the match. Some firms such as Betfair and Paddy Power have March priced odds-on at 10/11 to clear the 2+ fouls line against Liverpool, and I think the 6/4 from bet365 looks a generous offering.
Only Moises Caicedo gave away more fouls for Brighton last season than Solly March, who committed 64% of his offenses in home matches. The 29-year-old gave away two fouls in 11 of his 15 home starts in 2022/23 and gave away two fouls against The Reds the last time they visited the Amex in January.
This season, March has the highest fouls per game figure of any Brighton player. He has foul totals of 1,3,3 in his home league matches so far and all things considered 6/4 looks a very backable price considering the opponent he is up against on Sunday.
Mohammed Salah has shown a maturity to his game this calendar year and has massively increased his assist numbers for Liverpool. The Egyptian finished last season with five assists in his last three league matches and this term already has four in his first seven matches.
Brighton have failed to keep a clean sheet in every top-flight game so far this season and goals look highly likely on Sunday with Over 2.5 priced as short as 1/3. In total, Salah has now nine assists in his last 12 Premier League matches and taking the 11/4 for him to add to that against Roberto De Zerbi’s side looks a wise play.
