Brentford vs Man City Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Erling Haaland backed to sting the Bees tonight

Manchester City look to have rediscovered their groove with three wins on the spin. Pep Guardiola's side will now be targetting a win away to Brentford, who suffered a shock defeat at home to Plymouth over the weekend.

The teams lock horns tonight at 7.30pm, live on TNT Sports 2.

Manchester City seem to have finally found some form, which is why I expect them to win this game. City have won their last three games in a row and looked very strong in their 4-1 victory over West Ham and their 8-0 hammering of Salford City in the FA Cup.

Brentford on the other hand, are in a slight struggle for form at the moment; they have won only one game in their last seven and were dumped out of the FA Cup by Plymouth Argyle who are bottom of the Championship table at the moment. Given this poor form, I expect Man City to win this game.

I also expect both teams to score in the game. Although City have looked better recently, their defence is still far from perfect. Both teams have found the net in 5 oit of Man  City's last 7 Premier League games. With that in mind, I am adding both teams to the score for my first prediction.

For my second prediction, I’m backing Erling Haaland to score the game’s first goal. The Norwegian striker is back to good form, scoring three goals in his last two matches. Haaland’s ability to find the net makes him a player you can always count on, and he’s already proven he enjoys playing against Brentford. In their last meeting in September 2024, Haaland scored twice to help Manchester City secure a 2-1 victory.

This season, Haaland has been greatin the Premier League, racking up an impressive 16 goals so far despite a slight dry spell in front of goals during City's disastrous run of form. His knack for being in the right place at the right time, combined with his clinical finishing, makes him a nightmare for defenders.

The odds on Haaland to score the first goal are currently priced at 29/10, and considering his form and track record, this looks like a great shout.

Brentford have a number of absentees for tonight's clash, including the likes of Ryan Trevitt and Igor Thiago.

The big news is that wantaway right-back Kyle Walker won't feature for Man City tonight, while Rodri, John Stones, Ruben Dias, and Oscar Bobb all remain out.
