Brentford vs Brighton Tips
Brentford have won just one of their last 10 premier League games to slide down the standings and they find themselves only five points clear of the relegation zone, which may have some supporters feeling anxious.
However, home advantage could be crucial at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford were unfortunate to be held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United on Saturday having dominated the shot count 31-11.
Brighton, meanwhile, are becoming difficult to predict and Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at title-chasing Liverpool means they have now lost six of their last seven away games in all competitions.
Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney are back fit and healthy for the Bees, which significantly bolsters their attacking options, and their presence could be key against the Seagulls, who are set to be without leading lights Kaoru Mitoma and Joao Pedro.
Bettors may be expecting a high-scoring encounter given the fact that both teams have scored in Brentford's last five contests against West Ham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Burnley and Manchester United as well as in 22 of Brighton's 29 top-flight fixtures.
Brentford have gone seven league games without victory but they have had a tricky set of fixtures, having faced Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United during that time.
The Bees held both Chelsea and United to a point and they were utterly dominant in Saturday's showdown with the Red Devils, forcing 31 shots and hitting the woodwork on four occasions in a 1-1 draw.
A repeat performance should be enough to take care of an inconsistent Brighton, whose only two wins in their last 13 away league games have come against struggling duo Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United.
The Seagulls have lost four of their last five away league matches, going down 4-0 at Luton and 3-0 at Fulham during that period, while they were also beaten 2-0 on their trip to the Gtech Community Stadium last season.
Brentford need a victory to ease their relegation fears and in Toney, Mbeumo, Yoana Wissa and Neal Maupay they have a wealth of striking options at their disposal.
Since returning from his lengthy ban, Toney has netted four goals in 11 appearances while he also scored on his full England debut in a 2-2 draw with Belgium at the end of March.
Toney will feel he should have built on that in the latest 1-1 draw with United, having had nine shots and also hit the post.
The 28-year-old fired home 21 goals in 36 appearances last season and that included a brace in the home meeting with Brighton in a 2-0 victory.
At 6/1, given he is also on penalty duty, he looks a nice price to repeat the feat with another two goals against a Seagulls side that have conceded four at Luton and three at Fulham since the turn of the year.
