Brentford vs. Newcastle Predictions: We're backing the Magpies to continue their flight up the Premier League

There are six Premier League games being played on Saturday and we will have new, previews and tips for all of them on BettingOdds.com. We have asked our in-house writer Adam Roberts to look at the relegation clash between Brentford and Newcastle and he's picked out two selections that may be of interest.
The Bees are in a dire run of form coming into this one; they've won just one of their last ten in the Premier League and that was way back on the 2nd January. This streak has seen them drop from the fringes of the European spots, right down to 14th and only four points clear of the relegation zone, having played three more games than 18th placed Burnley. Their next three games are against Newcastle, Norwich and Burnley so they have to start picking up points. Thomas Frank's men badly need a win here and they come up against a Newcastle side unbeaten in the last six under new manager Eddie Howe.
Howe did some superb business in January bringing in experienced Premier League players rather than huge star names and it appears to be paying off. They have beaten Leeds, Everton and Villa and picked up two decent looking draws against top four chasing Man Utd and West Ham. They will now be eyeing the safety of mid-table sooner rather than later.
Brentford vs. Newcastle Tips
Team news:
Brentford could see the return of star striker Ivan Toney here after missing their last three games via injury. Christian Eriksen could make the match day squad for the first time since his signing after building his fitness in friendly games.
Newcastle are without star players Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin via injury amongst others. Ryan Fraser and Javier Manquillo are doubts which could free up a spot for new signing Bruno Guimaraes to make his first start for the club.
My first selection is Newcastle to win outright. They are a team in form and their fans and players are firmly behind Eddie Howe. As mentioned earlier they have picked up 12 points in their last six and have notched some good wins along the way.
In a complete reflection, Brentford are in dire trouble, having lost six of their last seven and eight of their last ten. They are struggling to score and their defence looks shot to bits, letting in 16 in their last seven matches.
When we look at the momentum of these two clubs, they are polar opposites and I expect that to continue here.
This will form my main bet of the match.
My second pick is a three part bet builder at Paddy Power paying a little over 18/1.
I've firstly gone for two Newcastle midfielders to have a shot on target in the match. Joe Willock joined Newcastle permanently in the summer and has notched 23 shots from just 17 starts thus far with six of those on target. The 22-year-old Arsenal academy product has been a lot more prolific in recent weeks though, having 12 shots in his last four games with three shots on target.
Another man who has seen his attacking output increase is Jonjo Shelvey who has totalled 21 shots in 14 starts this season. 10 of those have been on target which is a decent conversion rate. In his last seven starts he's managed 11 shots and six on target so this one looks to have a decent chance.
I've combined the two with Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard to be shown a card. The 27-year-old Dane has picked up six yellow cards in 25 appearances and leads The Bees for fouls with 45 for the season.
