Brentford vs. Bournemouth Betting Tips: Bees to rack up the shots in the capital

Brentford take on Bournemouth in the Premier League’s late kick-off on Saturday. It promises to be an interesting clash but the home side are the obvious favourites. Scott Thornton is on hand to provide us with his best bets for the game.
Thomas Frank’s side enter the halfway point of the season in the top half of the Premier League. They recorded an impressive victory over Liverpool in their last league match but they will be hoping to bounce back from their exit from the FA Cup.
Brentford have avoided the dreaded second season syndrome and now have an outside chance of playing European football next season. The Bees are currently 8 points behind Tottenham however, the pending suspension of Ivan Toney could make things much more difficult.
Bournemouth are without a win in five matches in all competitions. They have scored just two goals over that period. Both of those came as they were eliminated from the FA Cup by Burnley. The Cherries’ form needs to drastically improve if they are to avoid being dragged back into the relegation zone. The honeymoon period is well and truly over for Gary O’Neil. He now needs to provoke a response from his side.
Ivan Toney is a doubt for the home side and Pontus Jansson is ruled out. Smith is suspended for the visitors. Bournemouth will also be without Tavernier and Fredericks.
Brentford vs Bournemouth Tips
Bournemouth’s league opponents this season are averaging 18.78 tackles per game. In their last 8 Premier League matches, only Manchester United have had fewer than 15 tackles. The tackle counts against the Cherries in their last 5 matches are; 9, 31, 18, 30 and 16.
Brentford are averaging 16.22 tackles per game at home this season. They are proactive when out of possession and press effectively as a team. The Bees’ opponents average 12.19 passes per defensive action made by Thomas Frank’s side. They rank as the 8th most active pressing side in the league. This should help us in terms of tackles on Saturday. Brentford made 20 tackles when these sides met at Bloomfield Road earlier this season.
Bournemouth are very passive when out of possession and this means their opponents have plenty of opportunities to shoot. Only Everton concede more shots per game than Bournemouth’s 16.06 this season. This jumps to 17.67 shots per game for the opponents when the Cherries are playing away from home.
Brentford had 13 shots in the reverse fixture. They are averaging 10.89 shots per game at home this season. However, they have faced the ‘big-6’ and Brighton at home so that average should increase in the second half of the season.
For our longer odds bet we are going to take the same angles as the main bet but increase the lines.
7 of Bournemouth’s away matches this season have seen their opponent have 17 shots or more. If their defence can remain resolute during the early stages, Brentford should rack up the shots in this one.
Brentford had 17 tackles in their last match against Liverpool so we are hoping for a few more in this one. There were very few tackles in the opening 30 minutes of that game. The home side have the potential to make a lot of challenges here against a side that are forcing just 0.1 tackles per game less than Klopp’s side.
