Bournemouth played out a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in their opener and can be backed at 2/1 with most bookmakers to collect their first three points of the season on Sunday. Newcastle were reduced to ten men in the first half against Southampton, but came out 1-0 winners last weekend in a heated affair at St James' Park. The Magpies are 6/5 to make it two from two, while the draw can be sided with at 14/5.
Alex Scott is a player I’m backing to have an excellent season with the Cherries and for my first selection, I’m backing him to win 2+ fouls at even money with Sky Bet. Only Bruno Guimaraes was fouled more times in the top-flight on Gameweek 1 than Scott, who won five for his side against Forest.
Paddy Power have him priced at just 8/13 to win two or more fouls against Eddie Howe’s men and with having cleared this line in 10 of his last 16 starts across all competitions for Bournemouth, I make this one of my best bets this weekend.
I really fancy Bournemouth to pick up a result here and it’s worth remembering that from December to the end of the 203/24 campaign, they ranked eighth for points collected. Newcastle on the other hand struggled on the road and only three sides lost more matches away from home last season. At 2/1 as a single, I think they look a very backable price and I’m kicking off my long shot by backing the hosts to win.
Bruno Guimaraes looked a little jaded last weekend and he committed two fouls against Southampton. I’m backing a repeat here and taking a look at his foul figures in the league, he has committed two or more in six of his last eight.
Rounding off proceedings is Antoine Semenyo to score anytime. The Ghanaian only managed six league goals last season, but after the departure of Dominic Solanke he can build on that tally and take on a more prominent role for the side. Semenyo scored against Forest last week in a game where he let off five shots in total. Adding him to find the net, along with Bruno to commit 2+ fouls and Bournemouth to win, pays 16/1 with bet365.
