Bournemouth vs. Burnley Betting Tips: Back Max Aarons to be fouled twice or more
It may be a little early to declare this a ‘six-pointer’, but with Bournemouth and Burnley having just one win between them after 18 combined matches, the alarm bells are starting to ring for both sides. The Cherries take on The Clarets on the south coast on Saturday afternoon and we’ve asked Anthony Eadson to provide us with his best bets.
Here we have two teams that have had a sluggish start to the Premier League season and are both eager to secure a crucial three points this Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
In their most recent Premier League outing, Burnley experienced an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, which saw them remain in 18th position in the table with only four points from nine matches.
Bournemouth were also beaten last time out, having suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Wolves. There have been rumblings that manager Andoni Iraola is close to losing his job and at the time of writing he remains the 1/2 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post.
Bournemouth vs Burnley Tips
For those who are not aware, Sky bet now provide a ‘Player Fouls Won’ market and I’ve opted for a selection from here as my main bet. Max Aarons is the player I have taken a lean towards and I’ve backed him to win 2+ fouls at 6/5.
Only seven players in the Premier League have drawn more fouls than Bournemouth’s Max Aarons this season. This bet for the defender to give away two or more fouls has landed in seven of his nine league starts in 2023/24, and with a physical affair expected in this key fixture at the bottom of the table, I think he potentially looks overpriced.
Using the bet365 Bet Builder feature, I’ve also had a little tickle on Dominic Solanke to score and Josh Cullen to be carded. I mentioned Solanke at the start of the season as someone to keep an eye on in the coming months as I feel there is scope for him to manage 15+ goals over the course of the campaign. Solanke has been averaging 2.7 shots per game so far this term, and his four goals to date is an acceptable return considering his side remain winless.
Josh Cullen was booked eight times in the Championship last season, despite Burnley cruising to the league title. Since their return to the top-flight, Cullen already has four in just nine appearances and combining him with Solanke to score pays 17/2 on Saturday.
