Birmingham vs. QPR Betting Tips: Back Chair to continue his run of shots

Birmingham vs QPR Odds
Birmingham host Queens Park Rangers on Friday night in the Championship with the game shown live on Sky Sports. Here at BettingOdds.com we’ve previewed the game and picked out two bets that we like the look of for the action.
John Eustace’s side will have been disappointed to come away from Ewood Park empty-handed last weekend, going down 2-1 to Blackburn. The scoreline, however, didn’t really tell the story of the game with the away side letting off 17 shots in comparison to just 5 from Rovers. Birmingham are currently just three points above the drop zone, although due to the compact nature of the Championship table, they are just five points off fifth.
QPR will have been delighted that Mick Beale decided to remain at the club despite interest from Wolves last week. Rangers are currently flying high in the second-tier and can return to the top of the table here, which would see them leapfrog Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.
Marc Roberts, George Friend and Nico Gordon will all miss this game through injury for the hosts, with Troy Deeney and Hannibal Mejbri expected to come back into the side. For the visitors, Beale could well name an unchanged XI with Tyler Roberts and Chris Willock both unavailable for the trip to the Midlands.
Birmingham vs QPR Tips
Only two players in the Championship have let off more shots in the division this season than Queen’s Park Rangers’ Ilias Chair, and for our first selection on Friday night we are backing him to have Over 1.5 Shots, as well as Over 0.5 Shots on target.
This pays 4/5 via the bet365 Bet Builder and you may think this looks a little short for a player away from home, however when looking back at his data this season it’s easy to see why a price like this still makes appeal. Chair has recorded 2+ shots in his last 14 appearances in the league, only failing to do so on the opening day of the campaign. The Belgian has also hit the target on 14 occasions this term and with this selection of Over 1.5 Shots and Over 0.5 on target landing in nine of his last ten matches, we are happy to have it onside once again in Birmingham.
We’ve also picked out something at a bit more of a price, again courtesy of the bet365 Bet Builder feature. This time we are backing Dion Sanderson to be carded and Lydon Dykes to get on the scoresheet at 14/1.
No player in the Championship has been shown more yellow cards this season than Birmingham’s Dion Sanderson, who along with three others, has six cautions to his name in 2022/2023. Those six bookings have come in 15 appearances and with the defender having to take care of the dangerous Ilias Chair on Friday, we think he could well be in for this seventh of the campaign.
We’ll be pairing this up with Lydon Dykes to bag himself a goal anytime in the match. No player has scored more for Queen’s Park Rangers this season than Dykes, who has found the net four times in his last four matches. With Chris Willock out injured there is a real emphasis on Dykes to provide the goals, and at 14/1 we feel this double has a bit more chance than the odds imply.
