Belgium Euro Tips and Betting Odds

Welcome to BettingOdds.com's Euro 2021 profile series, where we'll be counting down to next summer's tournament with an in-depth look a the betting opportunities for each of the countries involved.
The Belgians will be looking for more of the same after impressive qualifying campaign
After bulldozing their way through qualifying, Belgium are second-favourites behind England in the Euro winner betting market, priced at 11/2. Roberto Martinez's side have been playing some tremendous football recently and their performance in qualifying - where they won all 10 of their games - has made them one of the team's to beat at next summer's tournament.
What is most impressive about this Belgium side is how many goals they score. Throughout qualifying they netted 40 in just 10 matches - more than any other group winner, whilst conceding just three goals in the process! Needless to say, no other side ended the qualification process with a better record both in defence and in attack and it is that kind of form which suggests they will prove incredibly stiff competition when Euro 2021 kicks off next June.
Having endured a pretty miserable history at the European Championships (they've never won the competition), De Rode Duivels will be desperate to finally lay claim to their first Euros title next year, especially after coming so close to winning the World Cup in 2018, in the end finishing third behind Croatia and champions France.

Belgium's outright odds at Euro 2021
As mentioned, Belgium are currently second-favourites to win Euro 2021 at odds of 11/2, an implied percentage probability of 15.4% by the bookies, and that price does to me represent solid value given their recent form.
Martinez's side have won their last twelve games in all competitions, including their two most recent Nations League clashes against Denmark (2-0) and Iceland (5-1) at the start of September. In fact, you have to go all the way back to November 2018 for the last time Belgium tasted defeat - a surprising 5-2 loss to Switzerland in the Nations League - though that is the only time they have lost a game in any competition since bowing out of the World Cup at the semi-final stage to France.
Those two results have been the only defeats Belgium have suffered in just over four years, proving just what a force they are under the guidance of Roberto Martinez. The Red Devils continue to impress on the main stage, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Dries Mertens proving such a huge threat each time they are in action. With all things considered, backing them at 11/2 before the price potentially shortens could be a good idea.

Who will be Belgium's key men at Euro 2021?
Belgium have an array of talent in their squad, most notably Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard - the team's captain - whose capabilities needs little explanation. Hazard has provided 32 goals and 33 assists in his 106 appearances for the national team and will be a vital cog in their push for European dominance at the forthcoming Euros. The 29-year-old is currently a 22/1 shot in the Euro top scorer betting market.
Eden's younger brother, Thorgen, is also a hugely talented player and another who is important to Belgium. The Borussia Dortmund forward provided seven goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga last time out and has netted four goals in his 30 senior international appearances so far, so it will be interesting to see how he performs at next summer's tournament.

Behind Hazard, Dries Mertens is one of Belgium's best creative forces. The Napoli forward has amassed 20 goals and 28 assists in his 92 appearances for the national side, and has been instrumental in both of their recent Nations League victories - scoring in both wins over Denmark and Iceland. He'll certainly be a key threat for Belgium at Euro 2021 and is a 66/1 longshot to claim the competition's Golden Boot award next July.
If anyone is going to achieve such a feat, though, then you would back Romelu Lukaku to do so. The Inter Milan front man has been inspired since joining the Serie A titans in 2019 - scoring a whopping 34 goals in his debut campaign in Italy last time out - and should he enjoy another similar season in 2020-21, then you'd have to fancy him to challenge the likes of Harry Kane, Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe in the top scorer market next summer.
Priced at 8/1 in the betting, Belgium's all-time leading goalscorer (52 goals in 84 apps) could be a profitable selection to get behind.
The main man for the Belgians is undoubtedly Kevin De Bruyne, however. One of the world's best footballers, KDB continues to hit new levels for club and country and last season finished the campaign with an astonishing 20 assists in the Premier League.
With a hugely impressive 36 assists and 19 goals to show for his 75 international appearances, it's clear just how important the 29-year-old is to Belgium and if they are to stand any chance of winning the Euros, he'll certainly have to be at the top of his game.
