Bayern Munich vs PSG Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: 7/2 fancy on Harry Kane
Bayern Munich face PSG in a mouth-watering Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
Tom Winch is here with his match preview and best bets.
Bayern Munich vs PSG Predictions
Bayern Munich have been excellent in recent weeks. Vincent Kompany must’ve given his side a stern talking-to after their humiliating defeat against Barcelona as the German giants have won all six matches with an aggregate scoreline of 17-0. They now face a PSG team that has struggled in this competition, with Luis Enrique’s men accumulating four points in as many games in the Champions League. The Parisiens face an almighty task at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.
The Bundesliga leaders are significant favourites, priced at 8/13 for victory. I think that’s understandable, given the form they’re in. Die Roten performs terrifically at this venue, only Bayer Leverkusen have managed to escape Munich with a positive result. Xabi Alonso’s men lost the shot count 18-3 and were dominated 1.38-0.06 in xG. It’s six points from two matches for the home side in this competition.
Defensively, they’ve been outstanding. Dinamo Zagreb managed just four shots in a 9-2 dismantling. Bruno Lage’s Benfica held tight despite conceding 24 shots, 10 of those came on target. The Portuguese outfit registered a single attempt that night.
PSG visited Arsenal in their only away Champions League clash. It wasn’t an eventful affair. Enrique’s side dominated possession but lacked quality in front of goal. The French champions have dominated all three home fixtures. A Paulo Gazzaniga own goal was the difference in round one in a game PSG recorded 26 shots and 2.10xG. PSV drew 1-1 in Paris despite giving up 26 shots and 2.57xG, then Diego Simeone’s Atletico claimed all three points in the previous matchday. Again, it was the French side who dominated the statistics as PSG racked up 22 shots and 2.12xG. The Spanish side had just four attempts and 0.67xG.
I’m expecting the hosts to win this encounter. They’re on a great run of form, strong at the back and have a striker scoring for fun. It’s clear that PSG struggle to convert their opportunities and can be vulnerable defensively in the big matches. The Germans have won each of the three previous encounters.
Bayern are ranked 4th for xG in this competition. PSG, 13th, are underachieving. Both are at the right end for xGA. PSG have the best defensive statistics (1.9xGA) despite conceding five goals. Kompany’s men are 32nd/36th and have conceded seven goals (3.4xGA). Given the numbers, I’m happy to back Bayern to win the match alongside under 4.5 goals.

I’d be shocked if Harry Kane fails to score in this clash. The Englishman is priced below even money on every available bookmaker. Finding a higher price has always been my aim, and I’m backing Bayern and Harry Kane to score from the penalty spot at an appealing price of 7/2.
Bayern will have the majority of offensive output. It’s a frightening front four. Michael Olise and Kingsley Coman will operate from either flank, while Jamal Musiala will play behind the sensational Harry Kane. The class and trickery from those players have every chance of winning a spot-kick. The Germans have won seven penalties from as many matches in all competitions at this venue in 24/25. Each of those seven has ended up in the back of the net. PSG have given away two penalties this season, and both were scored.
I’m still not sure how good PSG are. They’ve made a super start in Ligue 1, but this is their trickiest game. Bayern are in a good place and should be looking to extend their flawless run of form.
