Arsenal vs Barcelona Prediction
It's not often you see a team priced out at 10/1 in a European final, but that long shot reflects the scale of the challenge facing Arsenal in Lisbon.
The Gunners have enjoyed a cracking continental campaign, not least their impressive second-leg comeback to eliminate eight-time champions Lyon. But the final hurdle is their toughest yet: a meeting with a formidable quadruple-chasing Barcelona side who are bidding to win a third consecutive Champions League crown and their fourth in five seasons.
Barcelona come into the final as overwhelming favourites, priced as short as 2/9 to win in 90 minutes. However, bet365 are offering a more appealing 8/5 on Barcelona to win and both teams to score; a bet that could attract interest given both sides’ attacking firepower.
The Spanish giants are in imperious form, racking up 10 straight wins and netting 44 goals in the process. Their semi-final demolition of WSL champions Chelsea - a comprehensive 4-1 victory in both legs - would have sent shivers down the spines of the Arsenal faithful.
Yet, while Barcelona's attack is relentless, their defence is far from impregnable. Chelsea found the net in both legs, as did Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals. That offers a glimmer of hope for Arsenal, whose frontline line features WSL Golden Boot winner Alessia Russo and the clinical Mariona Caldentey, who have 14 Champions League goals between them this season.
Goals have been a feature of Arsenal’s recent outings. They’ve scored four or more goals in five of their last nine matches, including against the likes of Man Utd, Lyon, and Real Madrid. However, their defensive frailties have also been laid bare, shipping three, four, and five goals in recent clashes with Man Utd, Brighton, and Aston Villa, respectively.
It’s a final packed with firepower - and if Arsenal can strike early, this could turn into a far more competitive contest than the odds suggest.
When it comes to the goalscorer markets, we’re spoiled for choice with this free-scoring Barcelona side. Yet, one name stands out in particular: Ewa Pajor.
The Polish striker has been in sensational form this season, racking up 43 goals in 44 matches in all competitions, including seven in 10 Champions League appearances.
She’s hit a ruthless streak in recent weeks, scoring 10 goals in her last seven matches; a run that includes three consecutive braces.
Pajor, who scored against Barcelona in the 2023 Final, is priced at even-money to score anytime on Saturday, but given her red-hot form, SpreadEX’s 4/1 for the 28-year-old to score 2+ goals looks particularly appealing as she hunts for her fourth consecutive brace.
Arsenal vs Barcelona Team News
Lina Hurtig, Katie Reid, and Laia Codina are likely to be missing for Arsenal.
Barcelona are likely to be without Kika Nazareth due to an ankle injury she sustained against Real Madrid in March.
