Arsenal vs Aston Villa Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Best bets in tonight's Premier League duel

Arsenal will look to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool when they host Aston Villa at the Emirates this evening, in a game that can be watched on Sky Sports at 5.30pm.
The Gunners are unbeaten in 11 top-flight matches and picked up an important win over Tottenham in the week, however, opponents Aston Villa arrive in the capital looking to puncture the title hopes of their opponents, just like they did last season when they claimed a 2-0 win.
Read on for Olie Nixon's match preview and best bets.
Arsenal vs Aston Villa Predictions
The Gunners come into the match second place in the table, four points behind leaders Liverpool after Wednesday’s North London Derby.
With Liverpool travelling to Brentford on Saturday afternoon, there’s every chance that Mikel Arteta’s side come into this with a mountain to climb if they’re to get close.
Aston Villa lost each of their last five away fixtures before victory at Everton on Wednesday and will arrive confident of getting a result, having won at the Emirates last season to dent Arsenal’s title hopes.
Since Unai Emery took charge at Villa Park, this fixture has seen tackle totals of 39, 40, 63 and 43 – all comfortably over this line.
Both teams have also made their contribution to these totals with Arsenal having made 88 and Aston Villa 97 across those matches. We’ve also had different game states in all of them with two wins each and so the tackle totals can be put down to the tactical match-up more than anything else.
Arsenal’s home matches in the Premier League this season have seen an average of 37 tackles with this bet landing in six of 10. Their last three matches at the Emirates have seen tackle totals of 39, 42 and 47.
Villa’s away games have seen 33.4 tackles on average, with only four of their ten matches on their travels covering this line. However, with the head-to-head data as strong as it is, we can lean into that at what looks a low line when these two teams clash.

William Saliba has played a key part in those high tackle numbers, making 12 tackles across the four head-to-heads since Emery’s arrival, landing this bet in 3 of them. This season, he’s consistently been getting stuck in, averaging 2.12 tackles per 90 and making at least 2 in 13 of his 20 Premier League starts.
Aston Villa are drawing 17.52 tackles per game this season and Saliba will be tasked with containing Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers, with that pair having drawn 3.92 tackles per 90 between them this season.
With games against Man City and Newcastle in their next three Premier League matches, Arsenal will be desperate for three points to keep pace with runaway leaders Liverpool. They should be flying into tackles and we can expect Saliba to be heavily involved with his direct opposition and his recent record in this fixture.
